Infowars found Alex Jones arrested, charged with DWI in Travis County
The 46-year-old was booked at the Travis County Jail just after 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin resident and Infowars founder Alex Jones was charged with driving while intoxicated and taken to the Travis County Jail on Tuesday, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office told KVUE.

The 46-year-old was booked at the jail just after 12:30 a.m., the sheriff's office said. His charge is a class B misdemeanor.

Jones’s bail was set at $3,000 and he was released on bond around 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff's office.

Jones is known for his role at Infowars, which has come under fire for pushing disinformation.

As an avid ex-Alex Jones listener I find this news highly depressing. It is clear he has extreme alcoholism and is probably on a death path.

So Alex Jones can't handle his liquor? What does him getting a DWI have to do with anything?

I can't say I'm surprised, but I still don't how this is newsworthy. Did he go on some batshit insane rant like Mel Gibson did or something?

Alex clearly has serious drinking problems, needed help for it yesterday

He is wasted in every clip I've watched in the past year.

Some faggot wrote a piece for the New York Times a few months ago called I Worked for Alex Jones. I Regret It. I have no particular affection for Jones but considered it to be a hit piece. It does discuss his alcoholism so I guess that was probably accurate at the very least.

The Pioneer is losing the human spirit.
He forgot to eat, he forgot to be animated.

He can't afford an Uber or call someone for a ride, if he was drinking alone? Drunk drivers are assholes. There's never an excuse to drive drunk. Not one. Give me hats.

He's rich enough to afford a decent dryout facility. But even if he doesn't want spend the money or a long term stay, these guys don't charge, and it's only an hour a day. I'm sure in such a large metropolitan area, they even have private invite-only style meetings. He wouldn't have to mingle with "normal folk." HCIA

I thought he'd remarried, so had wondered if he had done this because he didn't want a record of an Uber trip or something that his wife might find. Doesn't seem that he has remarried, though he's probably banging one of the bimbos from his show. Hopefully he finds support to correct his moral failings and simping for Trump.

Stories abounded among my co-workers: The blinds stuck, so he ripped them off the wall. A water cooler had mold in it, so he grabbed a large knife, stabbed the plastic base wildly and smashed it on the ground.
Not seeing the issue with either of those reactions TBH. Blinds..

Update from TMZ. He got into a physical fight with his "wife", but did blow under .08 twice.
1:33 PM PT -- According to police docs ... cops were called to Jones' residence for a family disturbance. When they arrived, his wife claimed they had a verbal altercation that "was physical" earlier in the day. She allegedly told the officer Jones took off in his car and was possibly drinking.

Cops caught up with him shortly afterward -- sometime after 10 PM Monday night -- and pulled him over. The arrest report says the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Jones.

Jones allegedly admitted he drank a bottle of sake while he and his wife were at a sushi restaurant a couple hours earlier, and they got into an argument. Jones told the officer he walked home, but the argument continued there ... so he left to go to another residence to get away from her.

According to the report ... Jones demonstrated some impairment during field sobriety tests, such as swaying and losing his balance, but he did blow slightly below a .08 on the Intoxilyzer -- twice.

It should be noted ... it's unclear who the "wife" is in the report. Jones divorced his previous wife in 2015, and as far as we know ... he has not remarried.
