I remember hearing something about fags in the game or something, which was disappointing. Or "just" the commercials. I was interested until that point. Still might try it just because it's making libtard journoscum seethe, apparently.
There's this thing, but it is an ad for Love Nikki, not Infinity

I alway hated the idea of gacha mechanics and stayed well away from those games but the old nikki game I played almost all outfits were available for free as long as you saved up on in game currency and completed events on time so it wasn't that bad.
This is literally every gacha game to some extent.
Surprisingly enough, at the end of the day you cant make profit off of whales alone and need regular players to not quit after the first month to make profit.
IM NOT LIKE THE OTHER GACHA GAMES.png
Gacha is a false deity in place of the one true god, Gamba
may the gods of gamba grant me its boon (fullstop office hong lu) or deliver me unto its heavenly gates (negative bank account)

I am an adult man. Never even heard of the Nikki series before. My interest in fashion extends no further than making sure I look presentable in public. I know a little about textiles because of my autistic fixation on removing synthetic fabrics from my life. I'm obviously outside this game's target demographic, but I gave it a shot anyway. Probably won't stick with it for long, but it's been an okay time-waster.

Cons
- It's a gacha game, which means it will attract very smart and cool people who will use very smart and cool zoomer nigger slang to dismiss it out of hand or moralize about the supposed evils of gacha games. You'll be in awe of how smart and cool they are, and that may damage your self-esteem. That also means it's an incomplete game that may be finished ten years from now or may disappear tomorrow, depending on the whims of the gaming market.
- You can feel your testosterone levels dropping as you play.

Pros
- It's a fucking beautiful game:

- They pay a lot of attention to NPC's clothes. You can tell who's wearing linen, who's wearing wool, etc. The small environmental details like that add up to a game world that feels well-realized and lived-in.
- It's weirdly wholesome. During the current event, there's a sidequest about a lake monster. You meet a guy who's terrified by a supposed lake monster tearing up his shop every night. You wait around until nightfall and find that the damage is being caused by a little dog with a dapper bowtie, who belongs to the shopkeeper.

You calm the dog down with your animal grooming outfit and realize he's just trying to help his master decorate for the festival by dragging ribbons and decorations everywhere. You tell the owner about it, and instead of getting mad at the dog, he decides to leave the box of decorations in a place where the dog can get at them without making a mess, because he doesn't want to discourage his dog's creativity. The end. Any game that allows you to be kind to animals gets a few points in my book.

Hello! I also play Nikki! Tbh I've completed the main story that's out thus far and I can't wait for further major story updates!!!

Holy CRAP this game has a high resolution and other impressive graphical details. I know it’s centered on one character Nikki, but still, that is impressive

Is this really a mobile game? I feel my phone would catch fire under the strain of loading all of these particles

The only good modern gacha game is Reverse 1999.

then realized it was a gacha
gatcha is just a business model, it has no effect on the quality of the game. the latest turbogoy asscreed gold edition isn't suddenly a better game just because it's a single $120 purchase (with additional microtransactions and always online).
it's also a live-service game, you can make it the best game of all time but still won't be able to monetize it on everyone just spending 70 bucks once for more than a few months.

like every purchase what matters is how much money they want from you and what you get in return, "value" is highly subjective in that context.

I have not played a single gacha game that wouldnt have been a better more enjoyable game if the gacha mechanics didnt exist or atleast didnt cost money.
The main issue is end of life where the entire game will be nuked unless fans have an offline version of it. The sad thing is that Jap whales are insane enough to see it as a better alternative than the devs releasing a free to play version so every random dreg can cuck them by getting their waifu.

Is it still primarily a dress up game with a plot? Cause I swear if it’s anything like Genshin Gacha mechanics I’m gonna be disappointed. The original was a guilty pleasure of mine.

gacha isn't a brand, learn the difference.
again it's a monetization model, which can always be good or bad depending how it's implemented. it would be like me saying "I have not played a single standalone game that wouldnt have been a better more enjoyable game if the RNG mechanics didnt exist or atleast didnt cost money." most likely the game wouldn't be made in the first place, and then not run for long.

it's also a disingenuous argument since it's just payable RNG. it's like being able to buy drops in monster hunter (instead of using cheat engine). any random reward in a game is eventually in there for you to spend more time and possibly money. or EA fucking with experience rates to sell you boosters via dlc. like I said it depends how it's implemented, it has no effect on it's own.

that's any always online game.
the crew certainly wasn't a gacha and look how that turned out...

I downloaded and started playing last night, mostly just got through the tutorial/prologue. It's fun so far, and pretty, gameplay and UI and everything is similar to Genshin which I played for a while but stopped a few years back. I really like how many outfits there are and how you can mix and match them. I like how... pure it is? It's just so whimsical and pretty and PG. When I was making an outfit for Nikki I had an overcoat and a skirt but no official "top", just Nikki's white undershirt, and it doesn't let you save and go out walking around like that. And while I think it's a little silly to go that far I kind of like how unsexualized it is. It's different than Genshin where I just wanted to roll the girls I found sexiest, playing Infinity Nikki I really just enjoy dressing her up and getting more cute/elegant outfits and cosmetics.

I don't know if the game will be able to hold my interest for as long as Genshin though because having only one character is both a positive and a negative. But the world so far seems fun to explore.
