The team that created Planetary Annihilation have apparently decided to jump on the Factory building game ride. Trailer is very early, but I love the genre itself because I am clearly autistic.

Trailer looks like you're fighting the word rather than some other commander, which is weird. Perspective is more scaled down than Planetary Annihilation, which is probably good, since that game was a mess to navigate the map of, and just plan irritating to play. Only seems to be about four resources so far going from the belts you can see in the trailer. They also haven't changed the art style at all, which feels lazy lol. Interface looks like Dyson Sphere Simulator.

They also tried kickstarting a neat idea that never got off the ground called Human Resources; which seemed interesting but never went anywhere.

It was odd to me that they sent out an update to Kickstarter backers but instead of going to details on the game it went to one of those sites where you can "invest" in the company. No details on how that would work out with dividends, voting etc. just lots of pushy stuff about getting bonus shares if you pay a certain amount before a specific date.

Did some digging and found the info on the game in a preview and basic site for it. I have to agree on the factory part being interesting but I'm wondering how it will work. I guess with PvP it could be 2 players with one in each role or you handle both? I started to think the AI could handle it well if they have Sorian or other modded AI developers from PA work on it but the preview I saw mentioned that the AI running the factory for you in PvE could run into issues or be inefficient.

After the whole bankroll it approach and then light info I'll sit back and see how this turns out. I'm still waiting on the Dyson Sphere Program to hit 1.0 which seems like that will scratch the itch from PA and Factorio.

This is pretty much the game I thought of when they spelled out what they planned the game to be. Christ if they go on with this I hope they change the art style of the machines. Its dated as fuck. They've been using pretty much the same art style since 97 with total annihilation.

All these fuckers had to do to get money shoveled at them as fast as nostalgiafags (me included) could muster would be to recreate TA, but instead we got PA, which was just an autistic mess.

lol, already jumping ship from ruining kerbal space program 2 are they?

TA and the original Supreme Commander looked much more realistic IMO. This game looks 100% like Supreme Commander 2 though.
Annoying, isn't it?

FAF still has people playing, last time I was playing a few months ago, and yet the copy the game that everyone hated and shat upon. Just copy what worked before, It's not hard!

But, but, but... that's not innovative! We have to completely change up our winning formula or else our core player base that loves this formula will get bored and wander off!

Its dumb when you consider they can keep the core aspects people love, and just clean stuff up, make it sharper, add new things to it that do not wreck the old things.

Crazy how we are never allowed to make anything better, it just has to be new.

Meanwhile Dynasty Warriors is old enough to drink and still going reasonably strong.

If you want to play a modernized Total Annihilation there's the free game Beyond All Reason. It's got a lively multiplayer community.

Wake me up when they remake Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, I just want to be a dumb beast raider faction shitting out units in weird corners of the map to fuck up buildingcucks.

Well it fucked up with 9, but that works as well, they tried to make the game a ubishit openworld and no one wanted it. Let me smash hordes with overgayed, badly scripted animu weeb shit.
Yeah, I quit keeping track when I switched to PC instead of buying a PS3 but I did hear that about them finally putting a nail in that coffin. There's still Warriors Orochi and Samurai Warriors they haven't yet fucked up though.
