In the old games if you were ahead by five points or more by the end of the match it triggered a double exp bonus and a S rank on the challenge matches.
I finally got the game yesterday and played it for a good while.
Wow! It is pretty good. They really tightened up the gameplay after the beta and it is great fun.
Don't play single player if you want to enjoy some soccer. It takes several hours of story before you even get on a pitch. Chronicle mode is where the instant action is.
That said, the storyline is good fun. Junkfood anime, the best kind. I have liked it a lot so far.
Level 5 have totally delivered on their foodball jrpg that was stuck in development hell for a decade. And just in time because it kicks the shit out of Pokemon and eats its lunch.
Mods don't kill me for the triple post. I am infoposting.
There are currently three gift codes for the game that I have seen. Problem is they are Japanese codes. Don't fret!
On the Switch you can enter these codes easily. Go to the code menu and bring up your keyboard.
Select the globe in the bottom left and change the keyboard settings to the Japanese language option pictured above. It is the first one.
Next select the fourth button over from the bottom left, the katakana kanji option.
Now you can enter Japanese codes into your game. Here are the current codes available:
カハワヒコツイノモメオサ
(Type: kahawahikotsuinomomeosa)
モトネタヤイカントリキノ
(Type: motonetayaikantorikino)
ヤホンイヨメイシントアワ
(Type: yahonniyomeishintoawa)
The Japanese will fill in as you type out the English letters. The prizes are a light, a club house and a player bench. These appear to be from the DVD box set.
Enjoy!
Compliments to the guy on Steam I stole this from.
So, this goofy anime soccer game has been chugging along since it came out in November. They have already added a ton of new content to Chronicle Mode and with this past week's update they have also added a really cool advanced moveset mechanic.
They are also north of 800,000 sales, which is great news.
3.0 added a ton of cool things. Let's hit the list!
More special moves and team tactics.
A new rarity level for the team building metagame.
Overburst Mode: this is a big addition. Overburst lets you combine moves to create combo moves OR even all new moves of you find the right combo.
Tons of quality of life updates for menus and online mode such as optimized navigation, idle timeouts for online play,
Fixed a glitch with drop rates not stacking bonuses.
And a huge pile of general bug fixes.
I have played a bunch of this over the last few weeks and it is still good fun. I have barely touched Chronicle Mode because I am still messing around in the story mode, but the first route is almost like having a remake of the first game from the DS. It is pretty impressive and I can't wait to see how they tackle the other games. Have not done any online matches outside of the old beta test yet.
Another thing: I got the game on Switch knowing I was going to upgrade to the Switch 2 soon. This game was one that I wanted to compare across hardware. The Switch 2 version plays perfectly and is much better in every aspect than the Switch version. Unsurprising. But it was still a massive change. Looks just like the PC version.
