It was too much to hope that Mr. Sweet had come to his senses and taken down his vile comments on the death of Ms. Thrasher.
It's now on his blog page at the same site. He has moved it there and somehow managed to eliminate or disable the comments, which apparently did not please him.
Edit: Apologies to @SolidusChris. I didn't notice that he had beat me to the punch with this information.
As you've probably noticed, the "blog" page still displays the number of comments, which leads me to think that they may still exist in some form, even if they're not accessible.
Sweet Bro used to be pretty active on some cartoon websites in the early 00s. He seems to have gone through a period post-Herald and pre-Dale where he was markedly less insane than he currently is. He was still BLANGRY at the Herald, but some of his more esoteric madness (the Government are restricting his TV channels, Ashleigh was a honeypot trap to ruin the Bad Boy of College Journalism) doesn't make much of an appearance.
Here's Sweet, at the dawn of a new Millennium, in the prime of his life, college-educated in the most advanced society the world has ever known...reviewing the Saturday morning kid's TV lineup: https://archive.is/rl99w. Note that he misses almost one entire cartoon while preparing his "midmorning meal". I can see now why losing "sumptuous buffet-style dining" was such a privation.
He was also a noted member of a community which discussed and wrote fanfic for a show called Histeria, which I understand to be a cartoon featuring various famous historical figures. I've not fully trawled this site yet, but I have found a couple of interesting points. For those so inclined, an easy way to search for Sweet content is to copy/paste the following search string into Google:
Sweet apparently spent a total of five and a half years at college, both the community one and ASU: https://archive.is/g0uT1
Here's an "author profile" from the same site. It was posted on Sweet's behalf by a third party, who made some edits to the pronouns, replacing "I/me/my" with "he/him/his". https://archive.is/CMYIl
Dr. BELCH Real Name: Jonathan M. Sweet Age: 27 Turn ons: cheeseburgers, girls with glasses, ponytails, and accents; older music, esp. Bob Dylan but really he like anything w/ a harmonica; good animation w/ believable characterss he can care about and a well-done script Turn offs: ham, spinach, catfish with bones, gangsta rap/bubblegum pop, Michael Bolton, upper-class brats; unrepentant liberal socialists, Friends: *His new girlfriend, Nicole, though his kid brother despises her. Though not minutes before he was bragging about his alleged sexual escapades, he overheard them talking about their first kiss and was totally grossed out. Weirdest thing is, though, his mother and him are both seeing people after being out of the dating loop for a good while.
*His fourth ex, Alzaetia. It's nice to be friendly w/ someone you dated w/out the resentment and the restraining orders and her dad pretending he doesn't have a daughter when you call her up to ask for another chance.
*A lot of the ToonZoners, but esp. RockItShipper, who has been a real inspiration to him in both his writing and his love life. She said he'd find someone soon and she was right...so mil gracias, Rocky!
*His old coworkers at The Herald, most of which turned against him after the Mitchell debachle (discussed below)...and folks he knew ten years ago in high school who come up to him in his favorite restaurant or at Wal-Mart and spontaneously remember him--while he squint myopically at them and grin like a jackass. You've been there, right? Enemies: Oh, geez, should he name names? He don't want anyone getting into legal trouble over his a-holery. He's already going to court over it next week (Nov 25). Wish him luck.
*Philip Scott Mitchell, copy boy at The Arkansas State University Herald (1997). He claimed Dr. BELCH plagiarized a sketch off Saturday Night Live, which he never seen and don't believe to exist, in a piece he wrote on the new TV ratings system. He contested the charges and wound up ordered into psychological counseling and forced to leave ASU. His life was ruined. Nearly six years later, the charges still haunt him every time he sit at this keyboard to write.
*Bonnie Thrasher, evil faculty advisor. Looks a lot like Mimi Bobeck from the Drew Carey Show, or like Ma Mayhem on Batman Beyond, if you can did that. She went through a lot of logistic gymnastics to protect Mitchell, despite gross violations of protocol during his hearing and a woeful lack of evidence, and was the mastermind behind a very deep coverup.
*Roger Lee, associate dean of judicial affairs. He sort of resembles an orangutan with glasses. He was Thrasher's go-to guy when he submitted my grievance. His job: shut him up and ship him out. He flagged his records, arranged both his counseling sessions, and knowingly withheld information that the second session was only a preliminary and the actual one, which he had to take to get the flag lifted, cost 500 bucks, in order to have him removed from the University. He promised to question Mitchell about the validity of his charges, but a year later when asked about that, claimed it was unneccessary. In short, he is a liar who made the mistake of siding with Thrasher against him.
*And of course the assorted tyrants, mutants, minions, and bullies of his own comic book world. Birth: If you mean place, Chicago IL. If you mean date, Sep 13, 1975. If you mean method, natural (both brothers were Ceasarians). First appearance/First appearance in an H! fic: His first chainlink credit was "Chaos of Characters". He first appeared as himself in "The First Annual Harley Awards", in which he kissed both Pepper Mills and Courtney Cox. Shh--don't tell Nicole! ;D Fan-fictions: He's not the most proficient FanFic writer, but he think most will agree he go for quality. So here's his bibliography. ChainFics are in red.
*Crash on the Levee (P&B)
*A Lost Histeria Sketch (Francis Galton) (H!)
*The Package Deal (A!)
* #53: Pychology Today and Yesterday (H!)
* #25: That's Why the Lady is a Freak! (F!)
*Untitled Crossover Ficcie (JCA/Cardcaptors)
*A Very Wakko Thanksgiving (A!)
*Waiting for Go-boo (A!)
*Warner Academy 2: The Infant Strikes Back (A!)
There were two Daria Fics as well--"Spring Break in Hell" and "The Plot in A Nutshell", which was a crossover with Pinky and the Brain, but he deemed them too dirty for TZ .They can be found someplace in the Webiverse, though.
Forgive him if it sounds too back-cover blurb, but he's a proud graduate of Arkansas State University and a former columnist for their newspaper. He was born up North, but spent much of his life living in the filthy, crime-ridden Southern town which forms the backdrop for much of his work. He is a recent recipient of an honorable mention in the Famous Poets competition and plan to release his first novel next spring. In addition to short fiction and novels, he's at work drawing and illustrating the yet-unpublished Belch Dimension Comics, serving as both a marketing executive for Melaleuca, Inc. and a Cash-for-Stuffing employee, reading, surfing the Net, and playing harmonica to the music of his idol, Mr. Bob Dylan. When not writing he spend time trying and selling Melaleuca products and tending faithfully to his mothers two cats, Tiger and Precious, and her nearly-blind poodle Pierre.
-from the desk of J.M. Sweet
The profile is interesting for a number of reasons. Firstly, at least online, Sweet is capable to some degree of altering his behaviour to fit in with a social group. Whereas on the Daria wiki biography he points out that his childhood hometown was "mostly black", on this site he just points out the dirt and crime. He also mentions not posting his Daria fanfics to ToonZone, because they were "too dirty".
Secondly, there's a reference to a court appearance linked to his expulsion from ASU. The website shows this comment dates from November 2002, and Sweet mentions having a court date on November 25th. Thus, for our more investigative Kiwis, we have the fact that Sweet made a court appearance on 25th November 2002.
Thirdly, he drops names for some more galpals. The "ex" who he keeps in contact with is named as Alzaetia. This is a pretty rare name, and it matches the (screen?) name of someone involved with the early Daria fandom - https://archive.is/aTJs1https://archive.is/9V1jL
This may possibly be Alzaetia's Twitter, but it may very well also not: https://archive.is/55ROr. Please do not
Regarding Alzaetia, Sweet writes "It's nice to be friendly w/ someone you dated w/out the resentment and the restraining orders and her dad pretending he doesn't have a daughter when you call her up to ask for another chance."
We know that the first and last items on that list really happen, so it's strong evidence that Sweet has found himself the subject of a restraining order in the past.
I couldn't find anything yet on the galpal "Nicole". I wonder if this was the young lady whose mother was friends with Sweet's mother. IIRC from AJM, she was underage, and despite Sweet being willing to wait for her to attain majority, no romantic relationship ensued.
Finally, the Histeria forum helpfully published each member's IP address underneath their user title. Looking at a selection of Sweet's contributions, they all appear to be from a range starting 216.152.44.
Are blocks of IP addresses periodically reassigned? If so, it's possible that in 2002 the IP range was used by an Arkansas or Missouri ISP. However, Sweet has repeatedly said he was born in Chicago. It would thus be unsurprising if he had family in that part of the country, perhaps in Aurora.
Could Sweet have been living with a relative in Illinois in 2002?
So were most of Sweet's "romantic" entanglements online? I find it hard to believe that with Sweet's bizarre behavior that any woman with even a shred of sense allowed him to touch her.

If he shaved and got a haircut, and dressed appropriately, he's not bad looking. He might be overweight (I don't know if he is) but that is correctable. The problem is his attitudes, which in turn give rise to his extremely off-putting behavior. Even if he looked like Chris Hemsworth, his antics and opinions would repel most women, and those that it did not would have a large amount of baggage of their own.

He is overweight, possibly obese - which adds an extra layer of Logatto to his repeated references to Chris-Chan as a "fat fartknocker".
I am certain that almost all his "relationships" have been online or over the chinaphone. He only met Ashlaay once in person (she ditched him after ~30 seconds), and Alzaetia was definitely a long-distance internet affair. Nicole I'm not sure about - if she was the daughter of one of his mother's friends the it's conceivable that they met in person, possibly multiple times. I severely doubt he ever took her on any dates, however.
His attitude doesn't help but yeah he's a very unfortunate looking person. He has to have some kind of medical condition since most faces don't look like that.
Indeed. He really doesn't have much of a chin at all (apparently a running trait in the family), his lower lip is far more prominent. He's got a pair of perpetually-squinting, black olives for eyes. His neck cranks his head at an odd angle (which he claims is a conscious choice on his part. To which I respond with a hearty "Ha!"), and his smile, with his tiny, weird teeth, looks like he's in a losing battle with a serious bowel movement.
It's a partial archive of Sweet's postings from AJM. It's arranged in sections.
Post history, April 2014 - February 2015
This contains all of Sweet's posts from that time range. No other users' posts are included, so sometimes it is hard to pick up on context.
One-pagers
These are the five threads Sweet started on AJM which only lasted a single page. These archives do include posts from other users. I know they're quite sensitive about "monitoring", and "watchers", and "board crimes", so I've only included non-Sweet posts where it is necessary to preserve the threads he himself started. I feel this is an acceptable compromise between their desire for privacy and my desire of preserving a picture of how Sweets' threads were received by the community.
Belch Dimension Goes Deviant
One of only two threads with Sweet as OP that made it beyond one page. As with the one-page threads, I've included non-Sweet posts to preserve the context of the thread.
Ask An Author
By far the longest thread started by Sweet, as with the above it is fully preserved up until the beginning of March 2015.
All threads
This section was the product of me discovering a s00per l33t h4ck that let me go thread-by-thread and call only the posts made by Sweet.
It's actually very basic URL manipulation. Here's the starting point:
The number after "thread/" is, unsurprisingly, the thread number. To page to the next thread, replace this number with the number one digit higher.
I haven't got particularly far with this method, yet, but it's more a case of it being time-consuming than hard. If anyone wants to help, feel free to pick a number range...
