WHY WOULD YOU WANT THIS!?
E: I'm not 100% sure why but this really ticks me off in the worst way.
More than any other lolcow I've seen (though my experience has been limited), Sweet seems to be aware of his status as a loser. He readily admits to being weak, beaten, and overmatched by society. This is a guy who knows that, as far as real life goes, if it's you vs. him, he's going to lose. Jon may think only about himself, but he doesn't think much of himself. He may recognize that if an attractive woman knows that she's attractive, then she's instantly out of his league. The only kind of woman who would go after him would have to be desperate and dependent, because there's no way a self-respecting woman would have anything to do with him.
Also, I'm beginning to suspect this other relationship he had was platonic, and that he blew it up in his mind.

I think you're right, in that I imagine his desire for it to be something more made him see things that weren't there. Lord knows we all have been there before (I have at least), and I think it's clear that learning to not count your chickens before they hatch is a natural part of growing up.
Of course, Sweet's not exactly known for his maturity.

I'm trying to come up with a name for Sweet's....unique hair and beard style.

Sweet insists he's nothing like Chris:
I agree that Chris is clearly less able to function in society that Sweet. And yet...adding up the number of times they've found themselves in jail that we know about, I make it a tie at two times each.
Chris has the arrest after hitting Snyder with a car, and the arrest for the GameStop incident. Sweet has the trespassing and disrespecting a police officer incident, and the stretch for the attempted domestic assault against his brother.
In terms of actual time inside, Sweet is ahead at this point in time.

Well thank God he still maintains that most of his problems aren't his fault. I was worried for a second that he might have taken some responsibility for his failings and felt moved to address them.

I was crying laughing at this. The way he tries to spin what people say! But then when people point out the same type of thing in his own speech, they're lying and making things up. Fascinating.

Oh, apparently because I haven't been able to come online for a while I have "seen the error of my ways" and have "learned that I was wrong" and have "seen [your] true colors."
They are nice colors. You lot have been far kinder to me than most of the members of the USA board lately.

Yeah I'm sure most of the members here just assumed you were busy and looked forward to you coming back, the same as we do to any cool person who posts with us. You know, like sane people.

I get that inertia is a powerful force, but I just don't understand how people in the USAPatriot boards actively WANT Jon around. A good deal of the evidence collected showing hes a niggo-loathing obsessive luddite who looks like someone glued hair onto a thumb come from that very forum. I hope I'm not making a mistake in presuming the political views of a forum named USAPatriots, but is it because hes simply conservative that they feel compelled to defend him, or what?

Most people there are relatively conservative, but even if that was the reasoning, it doesn't make any sense. I'm as confused as you are as to why everyone else is defending him so strongly. If they didn't want to get involved, that would be one thing, but they are actively playing it like everyone here is at fault, and he has done nothing wrong. Apparently most of this is my fault.

Could be anything honestly, from their perspective I can understand feeling like we're the aggressors, after all our stated purpose is to chronicle the life and times of Jon Thumb.

Bronies and conservatives are both groups that like to make a big deal out of being oppressed. Like most groups obsessed with imaginary persecution they have a strong solidarity, and feel strong compulsion to defend one of their own against the "haters."

Why does he think writer for a college newspaper is his big ticket to fame and fortune? I don't know about ASU but at my university the paper's staff don't receive a compensation for their work other than class credit and resume padding.
