I think the modern transactivist movement might be overstepping on a few critical points but for the most part they're conducting really valuable work in bringing visibility and acceptance for a very vulnerable and marginalised community. I think everybody deserves to be treated with a baseline level of dignity and respect and I don't understand why it's so hard for the people here to not lose their minds and act like screeching, unsocialised apes when confronted with a transwoman who simply wants to live her best life without being subjected to a constant torrent of abuse and hatred.

Why are y'all so emotionally invested in what kind of clothes another person wants to wear?

I'm starting an honest discussion and giving people a chance to justify their regressive, socially unacceptable opinions. If your response is to dismiss that as "bait", maybe it's your indefensible opinions that are the issue.
 
Troons have some redeeming qualities, like ruining women's sports. I could even excuse the fact that they all rape children. But where I draw the line is ruining gaming, and that is the line the troons have crossed

I don't want to tone police you but I will just say I think it's really cringe when people have to invent their own language to support their fringe ideological viewpoints. You can use whatever language you prefer but just understand that hard to have a good faith discussion with somebody so far gone they're using a parallel made-up alternative to the English language because reality triggers them.

Sounds like you've had some pretty bad experiences, but I'm sure you'll find that most transpeople aren't like that.

Reddit was already pretty bad though, to be fair.

I was saying that it's cringe when you make up your own version of the English language in which widely accepted parts of the vocabulary do not exist or are deemed not valid because their existence upsets you. I never once said there was no such thing as a eunuch.

Can't we agree at least to abide by the rules of standard, accepted English?

I don't agree that any such thing as a "transwoman" exists. I also do not accept the contemporary notion that "gender" is independent of "sex". The language itself has been developed and imposed by vested interests for bad-faith purposes, and as such I refuse it.

There are men who submit themselves to a medical process to be feminised, which involves hormones and/or surgeries that render them eunuchs. There are also women who submit themselves to a medical process to be masculinized, which involves hormones and/or surgeries that render them sterile. Both types do so because they are mentally ill with gender dysphoria.

I do not accept as valid a medicalization process which so fundamentally harms the human body the way "transitioning" or "transgendering" does. Therefore I fundamentally reject the terms "transman" and "transwoman."

I don't recognise trans people as separate from other people. Imagine how dumb a thread about respecting blondpeople would be. They are just people who were born with blond hair. There would be no debate on whether they deserve respect or not.

Disagree. They do it for various reasons, but it doesn't matter.
Transwomen and trans women are two different terms, like the activists like to remind us. You need a handy term to define those people who ascribe to the ideology and underwent those procedures (even if just the social rituals).

the bigger issue is that "trans" is a concept that was invented for nefarious purposes, mainly due to John Money's criminally negligent medical fuckup disaster.

There is no such thing as a "trans" person, there are only mentally ill people with gender dysphoria. "Transing" those people is barbaric medical abuse.

If you're not even going to agree to use the same version of the English language everyone else is using, why are you even trying to have arguments with people? You can just win them all by saying "Actually when you said X it really means Y according to the secret language that only I speak".

I'm sorry, but I don't see any way you're going to change anyone's mind by just making up your own definitions for words.

AGP and the andro equivalent exists, but I agree that transing anyone is cruel punishment (although it doesn't make me too sad to see AGP losing their euphoria)

Not everyone with gender dysphoria is "trans" and not everyone who is trans had GD.
I think there is value in having a more colloquial term to refer to TIMs and TIFs.

(Btw, the first half of my comment was a joke at the obvious bait)
