I wouldn't be concerned about not understanding the appeal of the cultures of nations with some of the lowest birthrates and highest suicide rates in the world.

It's a bunch of artificially attractive girls with artificially attractive personae in a line all miming the same meticulously choreographed dance to the same overproduced song in perfect lockstep, implying not only that that's the aesthetic ideal but that that's the behavior that embodies it. That excellence is the ability to conform to the collective and adhere to the designated routine. That the impossible beauty standards quietly afforded by teams of beauticians and stylists and plastic surgeons and photographers and editors and millions of dollars of backing are rather the result of one's ability and willingness to make themselves functionally interchangeable.

It's propaganda. Simple as.
