Even trying to nuke "memes" like this from my results leads to them continually showing up. Wiping any semi-related content from my history does nothing. Eventually, anything you mark to not recommend to you will end up filtering back into your results anyway. Youtube, as a Google subsidiary, do not give two shits about what the users want and want to change their preference so suit the algorithm rather than the other way around.

As for OPs question it's just an even more autistic clone of the Florida man jokes just with another...

I agree that some come back mercilessly. SNL comes to mind.

But overall, I would say it is working OK for me these past 8 months. Then again, I am a serious rager who will spend 20 min refreshing just to get rid of shit I don't want in my feed if something is not right.

I've seen 1000% more metacommentary about "Ohio memes" than the actual Ohio memes themselves. Am I an accidental algorithm ninja that I'm somehow avoiding these???

I suspect that's part of the reason they're so happy to ban people these days.

They know you're going to keep using the site because it's the only option, and they still track you like you have an account, it's just that now that you don't have any control so you're going to watch whatever algorithm and ad-friendly content they feed you whether you like it or not and they don't even have to pretend to care.

That said I'm unaware of any ohio memes. I can't complain that much about my recommendations.
