I have never fired anything that would typically be called a machine gun. Machine guns are by nature not general purpose armaments. They are meant to provide continuous suppression, or to render things that float or fly full of bullets so that they get wrecked. I cant imagine I'll be in a situation where I need that kind of functionality.

The why is already answered up above, but I'll assume you want to know what it was like. It's the worst form of torture you can possibly imagine, I've had federal agents kick the shit out of me and I'd take that any day. If you ever find yourself in a SHU stop eating. The lack of calories will make it so you think less and also in those conditions likely give you some hallucinations to help you pass the time. Solitary confinement causes brain damage so profound you can see it with brain imaging. You'd rather have razors put underneath your fingernails, or be shocked with a car battery. It's an empty metal box with no stimulus whatsoever, not good. Most people who go in for extended periods just break apart completely.

So uhh, like 8 or something. I would log onto MUDs (multiplayer hack and slash rpgs where all content and interaction comes in the form of text) mostly to ruin those, just being generally as disruptive as possible. There was a mud where you could poison liquids if you played this one class. It was for PVP, you could sometimes in the heat of combat just slip a potion into someone's inventory with the give command unnoticed, and when they quaffed it they'd get rekt. Anyways, it worked for all liquid containers and if you are unfamiliar with MUD codebases generally fountains are liquid containers with limitless supply. So I leveled up this class and wrote a set of TinTin++ scripts that would go around to every fountain in the game and poison them, as well as greet newbies that join and give them helpful starter packs including poisoned healing potions. It forced significant code changes.

My first hack was on another MUD too, after I figured out how I could integer underflow spell levels on character creation and spawn with level 255 (impossible to normally get) spells and then proceed to roll through town wrecking all the people that had spent thousands of hours leveling and getting the best gear. I had a script that would do it automatically and then instantaneously delete my character. It took them months to figure out what I was doing.

Have there ever been times that you have just thought 'Fuck it' Dropping everything and living "off the grid"? removing yourself entirely from the system, the internet or just properly settling down?

I can't remember if I asked before if you hit up the gym/train in anyway? must be a pain with all the travelling.

Why would I need to spray that much lead? Minus the memes-- I wouldn't even want to fire a round of that size in my apartment. It'd go through multiple walls, very likely to hurt an innocent bystander. I have yet to be in a place in slavland where I had such contempt for my neighbors. In any self defense situation I'd want a magazine fed shotgun with a large after market drum. My favorite option here is the Saiga 12, you can buy a decent 20 round after market drum for it from MD Arms. Avoid the ProMag drums, they are fucking garbage.

It'd be fun (though expensive) to rent out an outdoor range and shoot a vehicle mounted MG, but I can't imagine any actual use I'd ever have for one.

Not for a second. For one, I have definitely no chance to go back to a normal life. Any jobs other than "shitpost on the Internet" are pretty farfetched. I manage to turn a pretty decent living out of that and there definitely aren't any other opportunities staring me in the face so yeah, gonna stick with it.

Beyond that, I am having too much fun. Even if you offered me ten times my current income with a guaranteed long term contract from an entity that I'd think would last, it wouldn't be enough. I've made more money than that before. My peak gross was 450k/year. It was very nice, the good life and what not, but it was not as much fun as being a notorious international thought criminal. It would probably take 5mil/year guaranteed to get me to walk away from my current path, and I don't see anyone giving me an offer that high.

I absorbed the memes from ED and would post there when I had something to whip anons into a frenzy over, but back in the day it was like /b/ and it was full of degenerate shit. I don't want to actually read that garbage. The transition to /int/ and then /pol/ has definitely made it a more readable, useful website.
