Got a copy from IGG. Because it's cracked and "offline", I'm stuck as a fuckin' jeet.
IGG? oh boy... get yourself checked after you are done playing it.
RexaGames seem to be trying to build trust so none of their releases are infected for now, they have the onlinefix too, get hytale from them.

So is the game good, or should I continue playing Cube World ?
I really only gave the game about 15 minutes and I was bored. Nothing in the first impression stood out to me, it just felt like Minecraft with two mods: a texture/UI overhaul, and ""parkour"" that lets you climb blocks at waist-height.

Since it's not going to grab me from the get-go by showing me what's new, I'd rather stick to Vintage Story and Terraria.

In retrospect, I dunno what I really expected considering I don't find Minecraft interesting and AFAIK Hytale started off as a minecraft mod.

it seems that (unsurprisingly given its origins) this game is aiming to cater to the "big server, custom games" player population with a focus on easy mod tools w/ easy ways to monetize, baked in troon-movement combat, etc. That's fine but not why I liked old minecraft (exploration, atmosphere, and creating stuff) ergo I agree with sticking to terraria/VS.

"Big server, custom games"
Ah, so it also copies Minecraft's 'gameplay not included' model.

And what the fuck is troon-movement combat? Do I wanna know?

I think it refers to the parkour / Mirror's Edge type bouncing around off every surface.

Other than most people not meeting the required autism check to play Vintage Story (and likely some money being thrown around), it's baffling to me how much traction Hytale has gotten on twitch and youtube. This feels destined to be one of those, "Never comes out of early access" disasters. Maybe they'll be happy with their 20bux and whatever they can scrape from suckers running servers in the future.

I appreciate games like this cause all the trannies and tubers go to stream it on Twitch and I get to find more creative tags to blacklist.

That said, it does look aight. I'd give it a shot if it ever came to steam, so uh.. see you in 2031.

Would most people consider Vintage Story to be better than this?
i was just browsing this thread and the vintage story one trying to figure out which one was the good one, people was saying one of the devs of vintage story is a tranny and that based people have to live like anne frank and then i see this game is run by jews? as someone who has fallen for flavor of the month slop numerous times im getting that vibe with hytale and peoples impressions, i think im gonna go with the tranny game vintage story

I can't tell you which is better since I'm watching the thread to see if Hytale is worth picking up, but I can tell you that VS is much more autistic.

If you avoid every public server and the discord it's a pretty great game with a decent amount of real survival mechanics translated over. Most things people bitch about wind up getting a mod at some point to fix them. Downside is some things are bit obtuse and your first winter can be brutal if you don't know what you're doing but the in-game guide does a good enough job explaining most concepts to you.

I have been playing this game with a friend on a server for alot of hours now. But there are some things you should consider before buying (or pirating) it:

The game itself is still in early acces right now. Although in this state it still has more mobs, biomes, furniture options than minecraft. The overall vibe with the music is really well done and themes change as you explore certain biomes or structures.

If you don’t use mods you are in for a fairly quick time. Theres no endgame to work to without them at this moment and you might get bored fast. Theres alot of good mods already. Since the Hytale team is giving away jobs to good modders theres alot of people trying their really best. Installing them is so easy, even a monkey could do it.

The multiplayer aspect. I can only speak for a 2 man server. But the RAM usage goes crazy at some points. We have 30+ mods installed at this point. Its mostly new crafting stations or weapons, a few just add new mobs, no biomes yet. Exploring the world with 2 people spikes up the RAM usage to 10-12GB. Instances/dimensions are not optimized for multiplayer, we can only do really small ones with bigger ones sending us over our 20GB limit instantly crashing everything.

Overall I would say it’s a breath of fresh air if you like open world/sandbox games with a light RPG aspect. But don’t expect to do anything with big groups unless you have massive amounts of server RAM at your disposal.

Huh, what kind of hardware do you use for running a server, because I have a trashcan Mac Pro with a 12 core CPU and 64GB of dedotated DDR3 so if the overhead's not too bad I can install a linux distro on it and use it as a throw-in-a-corner kind of server for this.
