Rate me late if this has already been shared, i looked through the past few pages and didnt' see it. Two or three weirdos right in the thick of it.

Fuck, some of those look like exactly the same species I had staying around until last month or so, watched 3 generations of the little bastards grow up and looked them up to learn their migration path. Given the sheer numbers required to spot them on radar and that apparently they were even spotted by the Hunters a few days ago they must've gone through hell.
RIP.

Comments on the Facebook post speculate that they're Northern Parula, Red-Eyed Viero, Black-and-White Warbler, Yellow-Throated Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, Cape May Warbler, and Black-Throated Blue Warbler. Poor little fellas just migrating and getting caught up in this mess.

Neighbors very graciously let us tap into their generator for an hour to power up our fridge again so more of our stuff can last overnight. Good people. In the six hours since power outage the freezer already went from below freezing (duh) to 50. Wind's really starting to pick up.

So it looks like Tampa will avoid a direct hit from the eye, but will the city still get fucked from the winds/storm surge?

Godspeed, Florida kiwis.

I think the troons are going to be too busy to scour a metro area of millions of people to find anyone here especially given the circumstances
During disasters that are likely to kill the poster is a good time to start internet seppuku if you give a shit of post history.

You can't be persecuted if you "missing", DFE if you're paranoid, however hurricane who got enough shit and never got his red stapler back is likely to tear down houses and infrastructure.

Since there is US military base in southern Florida do you think that they will go military grade nuclear shelter? I have so many question about funniest US state and how will they be deal with "fuck my ass raw" typhoons

So how long before hollywood can make a movie about this without committing a faux pas? Like 5 years, right? Im pretty sure the COVID movie is already in development.

Good luck my neighbors, may u dine in sneed tonight

Currently in Zephyrhills (on the Pasco/Hillsborough border, just North of Tampa and East of Lando). It's pitch black out, raining extremely hard, and getting some substantial wind gusts but the power is still on. The water in the swamp has risen a few inches and it sounds like we may a tree or two down in the woods. No damage to the house yet but I expect the pool cage is going to be fucked.

...and as I typed this out an alert came through saying the county has suspended all fire and rescue services.

Kiwis I would absolutely advise against giving any significant location specific details in this thread. The Kiwis in FL PM chain is a different detail. Some of you are giving a lot of info. Anyone can search posts you have made mentioning the location in question and use it to dox you, especially if you're active in particular threads or areas of the site. Make sure your opsec safety is solid like your storm safety.

The PM chain is probably safer but I'd still be careful. Lotta bad actors like to prey on emergencies.

Any military facility in Florida is going to be built to handle this exact situation as well as possible, they’re not the real concern. Despite the memes, a lot of key infrastructure in the state is built to either withstand these conditions or be as easy as possible to recover. The issue is all the people living in homes that are vulnerable to storm surge and flash flooding, and especially people in less robustly built homes and mobile homes, who are additionally even more vulnerable to wind and debris.

The two storm chasers sat in Tampa awaiting the eye wall to hit have now embarked on a side quest after finding an old, drunk(?) man stood outside in the hurricane waiting for a Lyft to show up, and are giving him a lift to his home on the other side of the bay.

UPDATE: 1 fun car ride later, Drunk Unc is home and safe in his building.
