It keeps moving north, personally I feel it's gonna hit my area dead on. It's gonna be an experience....like the first time Nick Rekieta tried coke. LOL
Hopefully it turns out a little better then his situation.

Little longer video for the 18:30 update. The wind situation is heating up and should continue to do so. I personally have a lot of standing water but my area as a whole seems okay.

I'm trying to hang for at least a 1930 update but it's getting a little much at times to be sitting outside. I'll try and figure something out though.

Sorry for being late. I'm bailing water off the back porch between videos.

Please, all you would need is a tall snorkel to keep pumping air during the flood, could use a brick chimney for that, sturdy enough that those tend to be the only structure still standing above ground.
Pretty sure a 20 foot wave backed by 200mph winds has enough kinetic force to rip and tear nigh anything my guy. Chimney my ass.

Just adding on to this, birding friend telling me that people on cruises are reporting massive flocks of birds landing on boats. They can become disoriented by the lights on ships at night, but the sheer number of birds and disorganization of the flight indicates that they've been blown off course of their migration route due to the storm. This video was reportedly taken on the Carnival Glory on October 7th. Spoiler contains photo of birds that died crashing into the boat.

Fuck, some of those look like exactly the same species I had staying around until last month or so, watched 3 generations of the little bastards grow up and looked them up to learn their migration path. Given the sheer numbers required to spot them on radar and that apparently they were even spotted by the Hunters a few days ago they must've gone through hell by the millions.
RIP.

Just remember, this will happen any time the gibs are interrupted. And they've spent the past 4 years getting as many more people on those gibs from every other country they can (as long as they're not European countries) as possible.
IIRC didn't New Orleans basically devolve into a de-facto race war where rogue police units started acting as white militias and black gangs roamed the streets robbing, killing, and raping whoever they wanted with impunity, and then the city tried to confiscate everyone's guns because they thought it would stop everyone from shooting each other?

Hurricane Andrew also had something similar happen with white militias iirc.

This seems like a good situation for trying cocaine for the first time as well. Ride the lightning.

Isn’t Florida full of HOAs? So you can’t even build a bunker if you wanted to.
Its not a matter of HOAs, in the most populated parts of Florida you're so close to sea level if you dig into the ground you hit water. My neighborhood has no HOAs, but if I dig more than 2 feet into my backyard, I'm in the drink.

I'm amazed at the amount of people giving out their location on here. Hope your post history on here didn't anger any weirdos.

If you're in the path and you have meat in the fridge, cook it now. If you can't, fill ziploc bags with ice and lay them in the freezer. Keep in contact with the other Kiwis in the check-in thread.

Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we may die.
You can't die if you died inside, this hurricane won't touch blessed kiwis. Stay in proper shelter either official or your own if your house isn't at risk of fire, flooding or collapse.

I suggest kiwis to invest in a portable crank generators to get enough power to get your phone working, maybe portable hotplate for food. Stay in your basement if it's water and well above sea level, huddling in public shelters with crackheads, insane people and people who smell like shit might get you infected by diseases.
