lol @ Black Metal being anyone's "safe space". Black metal is one of the most racist subgenres and also ranks pretty highly there on the misogyny, and even then there are plenty of anti-racist, anti-misogynistic black metal bands. So, big picture, it's no one's safe space

I'm pretty damn involved in the metal scene and I have only come across one sjw "metal head."
She made a hilarious article about how a gorey black metal band grabbed tits and bled on the crowd, since the black metal scene was her "safe space."

Unfortunately it was a famous band known for...well, tittie grabbing and blood so she got laughed right out

That's like going to a GG Allin show and complaining about having shit thrown on you.

I mean, unless you're complaining that you weren't also raped and kicked in the face.

Taste in music shouldn't be tied to ideology, though some spergs seem to have this thing that they have to identify with what music they listen to which I can chalk up to not maturing mentally beyond adolescence.
I agree, there's a difference between "liking metal", and being a "metalhead" - just like there's a difference between playing vidya, and identifying as a "gamer'.

That's pretty much what she was told. It didn't help that she says in her article that she hated what was going on yet STILL pushed her way to the front and "waited anxiously" for the vocalist to grab at her so she could resist.

"Heavy Metal was a mistake, it is nothing but trash" - IOMMI, Tony.
Maybe this is a discussion more suited to the music forum, but many of the early "metal" titans just considered themselves as part of the then-contemporary rock scene. When Black Sabbath released their first album, critics remarked that they sounded like an inferior verson of Cream.

Also, Motörhead never said they were a metal band. Lemmy himself always said that "We play rock 'n roll."

That useless fucking douchebag Robert Christgau gave it a "C-."

This is Robert Egler, aka Bob Macabre.

He currently has 34 active band projects, with a combined 128 (!) record releases cataloged on Metal Archives.

In every band listed, whether it be Clitpeeler, Cunt Pus Ingurgitator, Gamer Genocide, Kittens in a Kiln, or Short Bus Retard, he is the only member. And each and every band is the same indistinguishable soup of extreme metal.

I'd love to know what goes through his head when he decides that this latest release isn't so much of a Chainsaw Dissection record. It's more of a Postmortem Gore Orgy release, or maybe it's appropriate for Necroxorcist. Or maybe Schizogrinder? I'm sure he's the only one who can tell the difference between them all.

Bob Macabre? More like Bob Getafuckingjob.

How many corpses of missing college age girls do you think he has buried on his property?

I'm asking this because this guy clearly has an unhealthy obsession with murder, torture and specifically in the context of women. You don't make 80 albums with titles like "Pulverizing Prostitutes into Pig Feed" and "Displaying Her Decapitated Corpse" on a whim or because of "artistic vision", you do it because you get off on it.

When would he have the time to do that, though? Look for gaps in the discography then compare them to unsolved murders.

Oh God, I knew this guy would show up here. I really like this photo where he didn't quite crop out all of the photos of naked women on the left (spoiled for being NSFW):

I wonder if this guy knows any music theory or if he just sits down and noodles , recording everything, and then just sticks the parts he likes together in the "editing room". Aside from the obvious splices and cuts in that record where you can tell one dub ends and another begins, it sounds like a collection of random riffs he just slapped together.

There's no musicality to it.

Also dat guitar tone.

This is the sort of thing that happens when you really really want to be a metal musician but nobody ever told you your skill is nonexistent.

Listen to this fucking soloing

I have better solos I recorded on my tape deck when I was 14 and had just picked up a guitar and knew nothing about scales and shit.

Jesus.

The County Medical Examiner is literally a Carcass tribute band. IIRC almost 100% of their songs are reconstructed, rearranged Carcass song. Example:

They're pretty good.

EDIT: Also, the old guy in the front of the picture is actually a jazz bassist who joined the band for the novelty and at least one of them works/worked in a morgue.
