I absolutely love metal but fucking hate most modern North American metalheads. Not to blackpill you, but a lot of the "scene" fags I know IRL are trannies and leftoids and not journos. They are total fucking dysgenic pushovers. These two troons who I will not name but show do nothing but look gross and end up looking like the fucking godskin duo. The metalheads I have met from Europe and Asia are a totally different story and could not be anymore different if they tried.

As a casual musician myself I hate the idea of gatekeeping and keeping potential fans and supporters away, but if gatekeeping means keeping antifa trannies out its a necessary evil.

Metal could easily be the number one musical genre globally again if it wasn't filled with faggots, in the USA at least.

If it's any solace, the trannies in the metal scene are a temporary problem. Most of them won't live past 30.

the scene is somehow even faggotier than punk now. I still listen to metal but basically no American bands or shows anymore, just old shit and foreign groups/artists. rap is gay as fuck too. country somehow ended up being the least faggy pleb music scene.
 
I know this is two weeks late, but I've archived (1, 2, 3) the pearl clutching and kvetching from the politics general after Trump's win. It's a testament to how irrelevant this dead and gay site has become that literally nobody can even bring themselves to make fun of these four-eyed forum fairies melting down and having panic attacks over a fat New Yorker winning an election anymore. Never, he just had a little online notoriety for writing some scathing article about Jari/Wintersun not being about to release Time and it made some ripples to other sites. Otherwise he was always a tard either kissing Morrigan's ass or posting fake "zany" stories about stuff that supposedly happened in his real life in the FFA thread.

Am I late?

Metal Archives is a very great place to know bands and even read some reviews, I mean, they are certainly funny and if you find a "competent reviewer" (let's say) is even better.
But holy shit the forums do really suck ass. I know it's not new but I really, really think that people should use Metal Archives only for lurk for new bands.
 
Sometimes I go back and read the first few pages of this thread, just laughing at stupid band names and stupid band photos and drummers called "Autism". Before the Bad Times came, where everything was politics and deplatforming and imaginary Nazis. Just metalheads being dumbasses.

I miss those times.

Really makes you wonder just when and why we slipped into Worst Timeline where everything became lame and gay and marred with politisperging. It made me realize that I haven't been active in any online metal music communities since I went to university, for that exact same reason. I also just wanna go back to those times, the internet has lost too much lightheartedness and humor.

Hello ladies, gentlemen, enbies and all wonderful shades in between...

I don't think I need to point out the obvious and say that 2025 is a very uncertain year for folk like us.

As an autistic enby who is embracing their femme side for the first time, it's a very uncertain time for me. But I also feel like the challenges I've faced personally have also helped strengthen me, and I am choosing to focus on what I can control. The state of the world is shit, but I cannot control it. None of us really can, but there are strength in numbers and dignity in perseverance.

We have each other.

The past few days, weeks, months and years I've seen friends need the safety net of their community to catch them when they fall. And sometimes I needed that net too. And though I sometimes feel like I am knocked down so severely that I don't think I can get back up, I still choose to try and fly.

The person you need to be there for you the most is yourself. Your authentic self needs to shine. Even if that is in private, there is effort spent in masking for the wider world. Find a way to unmask, embrace your authentic self. Tell yourself it will be okay, that the sun still shines the next day. And like the sun, happiness also always returns.

I can say I finally know what my authentic self is like, and I am choosing to focus my energy on those who fully accept my authentic self unconditionally, while steeling myself against the pressures of the world and mourning friends lost due to bigotry.

So I invite you to talk in this thread about your experience and what this particular month means to you. After all, I think this is the most important Pride Month since the first brick was thrown.

Fucking Christ. It looks like everyone who would have called this guy a fag has been banned from the board. I'd really like to see him "embrace his femme side" at a Death Metal concert in the inner suburbs. I went the other day. Same faces from years back. Factory workers drinking beer and listening to Morbid Angel on the PA between sets. Opening act is a local grind band pig whistling about colostomy rape or whatever.

Sadly, you do see this shit at gigs. I went another time and there is a dude in a Mayhem shirt wearing a long black skirt. He's challenging gender norms. Came to see some Black Metal, aha.

Gone are the days when the forum signature used to be the guy's review profile on MA, where he reviews Iron Maiden albums for the 20th time, Or his tape trading list on Geocities, in pure text. Or his zine. No no, it "trans rights are human rights" now in gay colours.
