Not a meme answer: I reckon it would be a series of events and then a gradual fade. Bit of nuclear war here and there, some famine, some disease, corrupt leaders taking over and doing corrupt things. Borders change. Wars and revolutions occur in non-shithole countries. We devolve to a state of neo-feudalism with a much smaller population growth. We stagnate for a while and then just fizzle out. Nothing interesting or spectacular, and then in 200 million years the new species of mongoloids discover our fossils and wonder what calamity wiped us all out.

weed will be legal everywhere, but then people will 4get 2 plant the food. Then we we all get the munchies, there is no food and we all waste away.

Also the big blunt cloud will block out the sun 2.
