Sorry if this question isn't allowed, I saw no rule against it.

But yeah I purchased some Steam games (on sale only) and wound up actually liking them so now I'm looking at keeping them permanently--and especially still being able to play them on my Windows 10 computer long after Steam stops supporting Windows 10 (I keep legacy hardware for compatibility).

But yeah, assuming I already own a game, is there an easy way to crack it so it no longer requires steam? Or is this a case where I have to download a cracked version for each individual game? (If the latter, I guess I'll no longer buy from Steam).

Thanks in advance.

If curious the main games are Dragon Quest Builders, Puyo Tetris, and Halo MCC. That last one also requires you to have a Microsoft account which I hope can be cracked out.

Not sure about literally cracking steam games, but a pirating forum I've been getting stuff reliably from is cs.rin.ru

It's an old ass forum I've been using to crack the 300 dollar DLC for Eu4

i dont think you can remove microsoft drm but idk

Everyone else said about everything that needs to be said, but I'll spew my usual word salad anyway.

cs.rin.ru is the central forum about Steam piracy. That's where the main talk about all the main solutions of circumventing Steam dependencies and integrations happens, as well as tools for loading DLC's even in legitimate copies, emulators/cracks for other platforms, and of course, video game piracy, ranging from clean Steam game file sharing to sharing paywalled mods. You need a free account to start browsing and downloading things.

Steamless is what you're gonna be using to get rid of the SteamStub DRM. This is the DRM that's embedded in the game's executable and forces the game to run via Steam. Steamless unpacks the .exe so that this dependency on Steam is no longer there. Some older games can be packed this way, which won't allow for patching them to be large address aware, like Saints Row 2 which suffers from a shitton of issues and making the .exe LAA helps a lot.

Goldberg's Steam Emu is what you'll be using to emulate the Steam API. This API isn't the actual Steam DRM, but it's necessary in many games for things like online multiplayer or DLC's to work. GSE emulates all that so you can play multiplayer via LAN, load DLC's and do other nice things without having to depend on Steam.

Obviously it's pretty piss easy to circumvent these, and clearly Valve does not give a shit. I guess it's all down to GabeN's philosophy of piracy being a service problem. Valve offers value through Steam's integrations, Steamworks is there to give that integration to games, and it doesn't have to be a strong DRM, because pirating and cracking a Steam game is cumbersome and inconvenient, you lose out on Steam's features like Workshop, so people will be compelled to pay for it on Steam, and that's their business model.

Now, a very important disclaimer. These tools are there only to remove the Steam related dependencies. If a game you got on Steam has some other form of online dependency, like depending on 3rd party launchers, or has some other form of DRM like Denuvo, those tools won't help you. If you want to learn more, look into the PC Gaming Wiki article about DRM. Be sure to bookmark this wiki anyway, since it's an indispensable compendium of knowledge on how to tard wrangle old games to work on modern systems.
