I am talking about shoes you wear normally on a daily basis, not for special occasions (like when you go with grandma to the theatre), nor for specialized activity (like sports shoes you only wear when going out to run).

Yeah, but roughly how many years?

It's not the same 2, as opposed to 15.

One pair has a lifetime warranty, they are made by a company called Redwing so hopefully I won't have to replace them for a long time.
The other pair is just some shitty Reebok boot, I'll hopefully get at least two years out of them.

When I used to wear Doc Martens I would get 2-3 years out of a pair, but their quality has tanked so I stopped buying.

So roughly every 2-3 years.

My work shoes last for a couple of years before getting too flat and worn out, I was getting Sketchers slip-on work shoes for a while, but I recently switched to a boot style since that's what I prefer.
These are my current shoes:

I have a family member who's workplace gives her a Shoes for Crews voucher every year but she doesn't actually have to wear specific shoes for work, so she orders shoes for me instead. ;)

I ride my bike to work, am largely on my feet, and also go on walks during my break, so I probably should replace my shoes annually.

I have had the same pair of boots for the past 15 years or so, I only have to get them resoled about every 3 or 4 years. Those are my everyday walking around shoes.
I do wear sneakers on occasion but since I wear them so infrequently I only need a new pair every few years.

I buy new hiking sandals once a year. The only time I don't wear them is when the temperature is under 20°F. Then I have a pair of boots that are on their third year. They are my only shoes. Why are you a foot fetishist?

My particular brand of autism is an obsession with American manufactured shoes. For everyday, I mostly buy SAS because they're actual cobblers who will resole their products. The last ones I bought were a pair of Thorogood work shoes, but for work shoes, I read that Reebok are actually manufacturing work shoes for postal workers in America so I've been looking into getting a pair of those.

I have a pair of steel-toed work boots that I wear almost every day. Splurged on them and they’ve lasted me a good four years now and still look great.

Have three different pairs of sneakers I’ll wear when I’m not working, usually replace a pair every couple of years or so.

Have a pair of black leather dress shoes I’ll wear for nights out that I’ve had for about three years.

I have had the same pair of boots for 8 years, they get worn five days a week and have seen heavy use. The sole is going on them and I might have a year left.

As for shoes, depending on style and type. Every two to five years for just something to walk around in. Longer depending on where you wear them and how often. Running shoes I kill in a year, maybe two.

Daily wears are indoor cycling sneakers, treadmill sneakers and slippers.

Treadmills are amazingly effective at stripping tread from shoe bottoms. The treadmill shoes get replaced, and then become cycling sneakers for my indoor trainer because tread isn't really required when you use toe-basket pedals indoors. But toe-clips destroy shoe sidewalls and toes, so those things get trashed as soon as the next treadmill set gets retired. So... I suppose we can say that a set of sneakers will last 2 years, with one year on each trainer type.

Slippers get replaced annually because I live my life in them. Yay being old-faggy enough to not work for a living anymore.
