How many requests is Too Many Requests?

I keep getting 429 errors saying I sent "too many requests" in a given period of time when I click on links on the front page of Kiwi Farms. How long do I have to wait after the front page finishes loading to be allowed to start clicking on links? I don't understand the speed limit, once it lets me start browsing again I can spam click opening new tabs with threads with no issues. What's the deal?
