After the Nick Rekita scandals and enrolling in graduate school, im wondering how hard is it really to become a lawyer i see two reactions to this question on youtube

1: If becoming a lawyer is hard and stressful, do something else.
2: Becoming a lawyer is easy, but it's lots of reading.

I knew plenty of stupid people growing up who are now lawyers, but I'm curious how hard it is and if it's worth it for somebody like me who did poorly in high school and alright in college.

It's easier than becoming a pilot, doctor, nurse or CPA, but harder than becoming a cop, psychologist, social worker or something like that.

2-3 years to get your law degree, which is fairly easy, especially at a smaller, cheaper law school. Then the bar exam (unless you are in Oregon) which takes 2 weeks to two months to study for, depending on how good at testing you are (and is only offered twice a year, February and July).

Then the actual hard part, either starting your own practice, where it's usually rough getting customers, or catching on with a firm where they're going to underpay you and treat you like shit for several years.

I imagine its one of those jobs where it makes you want to kill yourself unless your a specific type of autist
