How good is dollar store engine oil?

As long as it's the proper weight, the same type (conventional vs synthetic), and you don't plan on flogging the turbo it should be fine until you can buy a proper bottle and drain that stuff out.

I wouldn't use it regularly though unless you want to engage in scientific experiment in oil analysis over time, since my guess is it is likely to degrade faster so you'd want to change the oil more often and analyze the results until you can determine if your oil change interval needs to change to keep it from degrading and damaging things. Which is probably more effort than it's worth to maybe save $5/change over time.
