Double post but I just remembered something from years and years ago. I was working at a fast food joint. We had this machine that toasted the hamburger buns. You put the buns in the top and they went through and toasted buns came out the bottom.

One day I had to train this new girl. I was showing her how to toast the buns. Showed her how to put them in and get them out. I asked if she had any questions.

She asked me, "What happened to the buns? Like, where did the bread go that you put in there?" She did not understand how the untoasted buns went in and disappeared and then toasted buns came out.

The best way to make toast is to put the bread in the toaster and throw it in the bathtub. the electrolytes from the toaster heats the bread and the water cools the bread. If someone is in the bathtub then you can share it with a friend.
