Everyone says that they "kiss their cat," but do you actually kiss her right on the lips?

Usually I brush my face or nose across my cat's cheek and make a "mwah" noise. Sometimes his forehead, instead. I could probably stop saying "mwah" when I do it, but I'm not going to.

I've read that cats don't understand why we kiss them, but my cat rubs his head against me all the time so I think he gets the gist.

Solution
I bump noses with her. She started doing it when she was little. It's a common cat greeting. She doesn't do the head bump. But she's pretty smol. Maybe if she gets a bit bigger. I don't think she's done growing. She's 8 1/2 months and 5.5 lbs.
This.

I don't kiss my cat often, but there is a lot of forehead/nose/beard to forehead action going on.

She actually really likes to rub her face against my beard in particular. This mostly happens at night, for obvious accessibility reasons.
I never kissed my cat on the lips. Even when she was dying.

A firm handshake is the standard for all the kitties in our household.

I don't kiss them - I let them come kiss me. At least for a bit until the fish breath becomes too much to bear.

Most of the time I prefer to settle with ear scratches, head, back, chest and tummy rubs, and then snuggling and cuddling where I let them just curl up and purr.

My house cats I kiss on the head forehead between the ears. They reciprocate by licking my nose or my ears and knead and take a five or ten minute nap.

The oldest one used to climb on me and bite my lip, but I would tell him "no, nasty." Now he rubs faces with me and rolls around on me.

Uhh well, I kiss the kitty head and do cheek rubs. She understands affection as butting heads and if I'm laying down and not paying attention, she will butt right in the side of my head.

She also head butts my shins and then I have to pick kitty up and love her, and squeeze her, and pet her, and I'll namer her George, and she's my best friend.

At one point in time, I left for 3 years for a job and my biggest regret was leaving my cat.
