How do you gatekeep?

It's a popular sentiment that one needs to gatekeep there hobbys and interest to keep them from devolveling into a diverse proud lgbtqiapomglmaowtfbbq+ inclusive space but I never see mention how you actually do that.
Do I just not explain the hobby to people with colored hair, do I say nigger while doing the hobby, or do I just try to associate it with republicans?

There's no one correct way to do it, it depends entirely on what it is you're trying to gate keep. Sometimes there's not much you can do, sometimes you can rule it with a iron fist. Just depends on the circumstances.

For example Null can ban people he doesn't want on the site and appoint a janny gestapo to ACK anyone he doesn't want around on the farms. He has complete power over his forums but if you're trying to gate keep a entire fandom good luck. Most you can do in that case is autistic internet guerilla warfare by doxing and shaming a few trannies or something.
