How do I make a smart person stupid? - Serious question

I have recently met two very smart people. One is someone in my life semi-permanently and the other I met in passing. The semi-permanent one isn’t relying on me for life advice and doesn’t want me to mentor them. I don’t even know if you’re reading this but the OP this post is based on is pretentious garbage. The only problem is that they are really fucking smart. The one I met in passing I couldn’t have given life-changing advice to because I’m unemployed, but I chose not to try because I could tell they weren’t going to understand it. So, how do you help someone to be dumber if they are really, really smart?

Sometimes all they need is an addiction to twitter clout chasing and outrage. Sometimes it's boxing them in a group with crazy motherfuckers. Sometimes it's introducing more stress. Sometimes it's introducing one to five illict substances.
