Hyped for a 3 day weekend, even though I'll probably do DoorDash on Sat & Sun for extra cash, this is the first time I've gotten labor day off from a job. Also pay day is normally Monday (but thanks to Chime I usually get it Sunday afternoon) anyhow, I got paid today since labor day is Monday and banks are closed. Only wack part about that is I didn't get paid for tomorrow, I guess it'll be on the next check.

sidenote: i wish i got paid weekly instead of every other week. part of the reason i'm still doing DoorDash on the side. should be in a better financial position by next month so I won't have to do it unless it get bored due to having no fucking life lol
 
Today makes three months since the spinal fusion surgery. Sometimes seems like I had the surgery three years ago. Pretty much back to normal, walking two miles or so most days. Slowly expanding distance walked. The tightness and discomfort in the lower back continues to slowly dissipate. Find upper back will get tight if I do too much. Now and then get a pinprick-type pain near left hip. No surprise, nerves do weird things when healing. Went to the commissary today, handled two carts. Came home, did two loads of laundry, then did a dump run with a buddy. He did almost all the tossing. Did what I could, keeping safety uppermost.

Am damned grateful I've had life-threatening/damaging conditions that got fixed on the operating table. Yeah, takes time to recover but much better than having chemotherapy for cancer, or having a condition for which there are no fixes.

It's getting colder here, I mean in the morning. When I walk to the gym, the temperature is fine in the daytime.

I see people walking to their work when I'm done and walking home. A bit weird to see people only use all-weather jackets. That's the shit I saw out on the countryside, this is the capital of the country.
Is it a requirement to lose all sense of fashion when working?

I feel out of place with my scarf, which isn't even oversized. Feel like I have to start with the gloves and face mask. Not for covid reasons, but even though I'm not sick. My nose get drippy while breathing in cold air.
 
Been in limbo for years in regards to college, but I realized today that I am genuinely enjoying the class and the career path I'm heading towards. Something feels settled in me, am really happy. :)
 
Well, after a week of hectic packing, dealing with Uhaul truck rental, learning to drive a truck, gun-barreling through the desert with crazy weather, dealing with LA/Riverside traffic, and unpacking shit (requiring creativity to lift stuff 2 stories), I am now a Californian — the great Satan himself. Moving sucks, feeling exhausted, but I’m proud of the accomplishment.

Minor whitepill, but California is way less pozzed than outsiders/A&N regulars would think. Less than half of everybody wears masks, most businesses are mask-optional, radio adds saying to recall Gov. Gruesome, and I even saw a few “Biden Sucks! Trump 2024” flags. The crazies exist and are entirely in the state government, but there are normal (even based) people still here. Maybe there is hope for this damn state…

Pretty good. On the phone with a friend. They're trying to hook me up with a job in Colorado that will 1. reimburse me on any fees associated with relocating 2. provide room and board 3. pay better than my current job 4. offer a $1,000 bonus
 
Now that I'm sober again I just wanna say hurricane Larry is gonna drive me nuts. I've said before but I hate when my apt floods but it's especially bad if it rains so much or so hard that the drains can't handle the storm surge and the flooding gets worse. Like during Ida last week the water got into my bedroom which it almost never does.

Oh well most storm trackers are saying Larry's expected to stay out in the open water, I hope it does
 
My achilles tendon seems to be injured. I can stand, but walking forward hurts. I really hope I'm exaggerating and it is something minor, since I've always been afraid to tear that one.

On the other hand, I wasn't playing games for... A year? More? I can't even tell, but turns out my friend bought SYNTHETIK and now we die and die, but it's so fun.
 
Stoned already and its 725am. Days like today the pain wakes you up. Pain from my health bullshit but other than that I am okay once the pain fades from my meds and stuff! My doggo (one of) is laying next to me on the couch and farting but she is so comfy that I dont wanna get up and light a candle cause it will wake her <3
 
Getting ready to do overtime and get my life back together piece by piece. Have an ogress with a crush on me that I might fuck, dinner with grandma for her birthday and I'm going to work this week like normal so that I can get my life in the black (then green once I can get my money from the IRS).
 
It's my daughters first day at school tomorrow... It's gone by so fast... if you lot have kids cherish even those small annoying moments of them being little and snotty, it's no meme that you'll miss it...

Oh and watch out for those nervous shits, I've had them all week. Your kid will be fine, you, on the other hand, you'll be a mess.
