New Year's is the worst holiday because December is miles better than January so I'm not going to celebrate December ending. Honestly, most of the first half of the year is depressing for me. The good part of the year doesn't really start until mid-August when we're in the home stretch towards the best season, autumn (well, for those of us in the mid-lattitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, obviously. I'd love to visit southern New Zealand in April for an opposite end of the year taste of October).

I went to my local interdenominatial church. I got stuck behind Tyrone, who is 7 feet tall. They had 3 camera people recording that shit for zoom calls. I got a free book that told me that it was not about me. I accepted Jesus as my lord and savior and got out before the fireworks started. I had always been sus of this church but they gave me a free book and had non-touch stations setup to get my donations during Covid. They even had an ATM and a Starbucks, it was beautiful.

Maybe I ought to watch the first sunrise of the year like they did in that season 1 episode of Non Non Biyori. But it'll just be the sun rising above the house across the street since I don't have my own mountain the way Renge's family does.

I can't find the relevant clip but it's from the same episode (s1e10) where Renge was walking up the mountain path before sunrise singing the dark song about the doctor in the depths of despair walking into a bamboo grove with a torn-up love letter (presumably to commit seppuku).

Seafood feast (mega lobster tail, seared dry scallops and split King Crab legs) with a glass of bubbly, then waddled off to bed lol.

I work today in a little bit; have a good New Year's Day friendos.
