This "fan redesign" is too perfectly made to get feminists shrieking about male gaze. There's no way it's not a troll or a plant. Instead of talking about the legitimate grievance - a character whose entire life consists of sprinting and climbing while carrying heavy equipment appears to be bordering on obese - everyone is focusing on this one specific tweet.

It too conveniently drew attention away from the actual issue and gave Twitter something to be smug about instead. I think the company (whose name I forgot) pulled a masterful toreador cape flick here. Not that Twitter needs much coaxing to be smug assholes over extremely petty things, but this just worked out too perfectly for the game designers.

She had no personality. Horizons story and world building were absolutely top tier. The writers knew how to make a very compelling narrative. But they were absolutely terrible at writing actual humans. Quick quiz!

What is the name of the hunter lady that wanted to take down red maw?

What is the name of the hard ass Nora War Leader? Bonus, what is her Son's name?

What is the name of the boy Aloy saves as a child?

Oddly it was the B team writers that made the most impact. The guys who wrote all the flavor text in the data points and the audio logs from the war with the Faroe Plague. Now that was the good shit. The lead writers were mouth breathers too focused on making their woke power fantasy. So much was made about Aloy being uninterested in romance, her sex and so on. End result is a character about as robotic as the machines she fights.

This is coming from someone who adored zero dawn BTW. Everything about it was great but for the people inhabiting the world of the game.

So think this game we will find out Theodore Faro is still alive and given that humans were still assholes to each other even after a great reset, released HADES? Oh and muh struggles because Aloy looks like his long lost girl crush.

I want to know if the rent in San Francisco is still ungodly high. I mean those shots of the city have it look like it has not aged a day.

Only if they do it in the most ridiculous, ham-fisted way since its been almost a full millennium since the robots went on their killing spree. HZD is set in 3020, the killing spree happened in 2064. Of course, I doubt these guys have the talent to come up with anything original and talented, so you're probably right and he'll show up out of cryo or some dumb garbage like that with his own new and improved killbots.
 
Cool! Fun game that deserves a sequel. I hope the developers take more time to polish the experience and learn from some of what BOTW did around the same period of time.

well they kept talking about how cryo was not feasible at all before the fall several times. IDK just got the feeling between the numerous times it got brought up and Faro being an asshole that he probably did have people working on it and just said screw it, if it works it works if not no big loss. Then wakes up sees humans are naturally assholes to each other and decides they don't deserve their second chance and releases HADES, I mean the guy purged APOLLO so he had the know how to do it.

Most people mocking fan remade designs have no clue how game design works.

Most people making fan made designs to corporations do not know how marketing to the least popular “gamers” work.

For the same reason why Robin Hood: Men In Tights was popular. Only problem is that Horizon: Forbidden West is not a comedy. It’s just a strong whamen game.
