Samus Aran is a poor example of breaking gender stereotypes. While I can agree that having the suited space bounty hunter as a woman does break gender stereotypes, making her exposed female body a reward for good player skill is objectifying her at the same time.
Hence, i can see Alloy, or whatever the fuck her name is, breaks stereotypes because she is just a woman who serves a role in the game's world rather than any perverted desires of the player. Though, in this way the non-modded women of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim break gender stereotypes but we all know that magazine is just pandering to feminists who don't actually play video games.
