One more for the Disney pile: their acquisition of Pixar and its consequences have been a disaster for animation.

Non-Disney: Warner Bros.' treatment of the Looney Tunes since the late 90s.
 
Okay, The Shining 1980.

The premise is solitude and being stranded, right? Jack Nicholson and that bug-eyed lady are caretakers of a hotel cuz they’re lucky pricks, only they get snowed in. That’s why the overture showed a long, winding path up the Colorado mountain to the final destination of the hotel. This gives the audience a sense of “there’s no going back”.

So why in Sam Hill is there a bar packed full of people inside the hotel?

Moonraker made the major mistake of trying to do realistic space combat, so everybody flies all over the damn place un-coordinated and spinning randomly.

which, while realistically depicting what a clusterfuck it will be, makes it look like the movie needs Yakkity Sax playing instead of the Cool Big End Bond Fight
 
In The Program (1993) on the final play, there is both an illegal formation (the TE is lined up inside one of the numbered OTs) AND there is illegal motion before the snap by the tailback (who runs at an angle towards the LoS rather than laterally). After that, there is clear holding on the offense and a visibile hands to the face on the QBs left. After Kane throws the ball there is obvious offensive pass interference which WOULD be called since there was a call out by the backfield judge in a deleted scene.

Maybe ACC refs would miss one or two of those calls, but there's no fucking way they miss all FIVE egregious and obvious penalties. I fucking hate Hollywood so much.
 
In Bohemian Rhapsody, some of studio equipment they use to record is wrong. When I watched this movie with my boyfriend, who's a sound engineer, he started to sperg about the mics. I have no idea what he said about them.
 
Obligatory Disney and Star Wars. The way the sequels were written has to be one of the biggest mistakes in Hollywood. They made money but ruined the brand.

Have you seen the film? It's well worth a curiosity watch. I watched it a couple years ago and you just don't know what is acting, real danger, real fear and the insanity of the scenes.

I don't care what anyone says, Moonraker is an entertaining film. It's more rewatchable than many better Bond films. Speaking of Bond though, they fucked up in the Craig era a whole bunch of times and almost certainly will fuck up with the next reboot. I suspect there thinking is going to be similar to what started ruining Marvel. It's not Tony Stark Iron Man. It's the Iron Man super hero. Anyone can be that mantle. We'll get a new James Bond 007, doing spy stuff but it won't be the same character. Different back stories ect.

I think everyone was super emotional about Bohemian Rhapsody to notice its many issues. The script isn't that good, there are a few anachronisms and changes in timeline. It's an okay movie, not the sensational must see work of art people made it seem.

After a more faithful script set to be directed by Harold Ramis (which is attached) was scrapped, they got a bunch of people who, and I quote "started to think about Max Headroom." Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo showed up hammered to the set, and apparently the husband-wife team who directed it were so awful their own agent told them to get off of the set.

The art direction was damn good, though.

getting audio stuff right is more noteworthy
a cool little detail about Fraiser that was completely unneeded, they actually had a real call screening program (or an uncanny replica of the particular one) on the screen on that shitty old 486 looking monitor, which would be an appropriate level of machine for it
 
CGI blood splatter in horror movies and for that matter, making a horror movie R at first then cutting it down to PG13 so the kids can get in and the studio gets more money. Remember when PG meant something.
