i said its worse in consideration to the previous game not because the game has less quality gameplay but rather the game is 4 times as tedious
Tedious really is the best way to describe the issues with the game. Everything involves jumping through so many hoops or wasting your time. I'd rather play a shorter game that doesn't pad itself out.

also the ending was pure fanservice and as a fanservice hater both sexual and non sexual i hated everything about it

Still stuck on the Flaming Dung Defender (Last Judge). I can do stage 1 hitless, and got significantly better at getting to the arena and slightly better at avoiding fire attacks but I can't figure out when to actually counterattack. I can safely get 2 hits in stage 1 when they/them does the downward attack but not when it also sets the floor on fire.

edit: 53 minutes later, Act 2, here we fucking gooooooo
Last Judge tips for shitty players:
  • heat waves: generally stay in the center of the arena to have space to retreat; on heat wave, dash away and walk away slowly like an action movie protagonist
    • there is a second longish type of heat wave that only happens once (?), you have to walk toward the boss when the closer wave dissipates
  • censer throw: stay close to the boss, hit the boss once, jump away immediately when the censer explodes
  • downward attack: learn to tell between censer strike and regular jump, jump up to avoid flaming floor if censer, hit the boss once afterward
  • charge: the first pillar rises where the boss starts the charge, jump over the boss and dash beyond it to safety

Try to run behind it when it does its jumping attack, strike once or twice, and then keep running that way

I’m about 80 hours into Silksong and it is definitely tedious asf . Super long run backs to boss fights, putting things a tad out of reach to make you fight for it , and flying enemies everywhere. I’m liking it so far, but I feel like there is less boss encounters than the last one and the bosses they do have don’t seem as well thought out like the Original. Still fun though. :)

I'm buttmad about the inaccessible oil in the Citadel shop. In HK two locations needed to be cleared between the first two nail upgrades. I did Blasted Steps, Underworks, AND the long-ass climb in Choral. No oil, and the bugs are getting fatter. But at least I unlocked a new town and there are new quests.

Pneumotubes are fun. I found a bellway + tube + bench room so I can go places now.

Yea , I grabbed the great taste of pharloom quest so I can get the oil and I’ve got the couriers rasher left. Trying to find the fastest way to get it to where it needs to go . Its on a time limit like the white flower quest on HK.

White flower is not on a time limit, white flower is no damage. Anyway I don't know where to even start looking for this (don't tell me). Bells are everywhere and there isn't a courier (name or description) in the monster manual. The Bellhard npc I rescued is named "Courier Tipp" but he doesn't say anything helpful. (I went to all three towns.)

  • 5 extra spools, tool damage at 3.
  • Still no oil.
  • Slapped the pooner.
  • There's a mask shard for sale and another locked up. With the one at Atla that I have to git gud to reach, it'd be enough for a new mask.
  • Found the Hardware Bugs (Cogwork Dancers), decided to not fight them.
    • Visually, they remind me of mantis queens in HK, whom I can do hitless with no sword upgrades. With my luck, these will be completely different and a major pain.
  • Disappointed that the ants didn't open the basement permanently.
  • Found some more fleas and moved the flea camp to the gates of the citadel.
  • Got a quest to look for some guy in Sinner's Road. The area is ridiculously hard and there's poison everywhere I don't know how to treat.
    • Found a mantis guy locked up there, bought a key and released him. No reward. Maybe I should've left him to rot.
  • Tried Mount Fay. Nope nope nope, looks like I need a cold resistance item. (Really hope it's a fluffy coat.)
  • Met Poshanka, bought the map of Wormways. Noticed there may be a weaver nest in Wormways.
    • Poshanka promised to make pneumotube pins for me but didn't show up showed up eventually.
  • Solved Simon Says, got a quest item, disappointed.
  • Fought the pair of drills in Blasted Steps, killed one, got nothing as a reward (new room but I can't make the jumps there, yes I noticed the wind has an effect on movement, it's not enough) new area, hard jumps, noped out;
    • also needle charge attack
      • disappointed, was really hoping for a fluffy coat (the first ballooner made the puffy skirt)
      • this and wall cling could be useful in the Far Fields lava arena
  • Went to do Sherma's quest in the hospital, reached him (it's a boy, apparently) with 1 hp, saw there was going to be a fight and noped out. Returned and decided to explore elsewhere, found a whole new area (Underworks right side) and a movement ability!
    • Really sad about having to kill Underworks workers.
    • Now to remember where all the rings were:
      • deep docks assrape area
      • far fields arena over lava, needs sword upgrade
      • top left of choral new area, long jumps, assrape damage
      • greymoor silkworks maybe? done, fucking silk eater
    • Came back to try the fight, it's murder, two 2-mask fatties in a dark room. Nope. Guess Sherma dies.
  • Bought everything I could from Five Eyes (still need 1 craftmetal).
  • I really like the knight guy npc (Garmond & Zaza), hope he lives.
  • There are some arena fights I gave up on, a fly boss that spawns in lower Greymoor, and a hunting quest in Far Fields that I didn't touch yet.
    • Speaking of Far Fields, I hope the seamstress is ok.
  • A craftsman in Bone Bottom gave me a miniature Hornet. I can break it into 60 shards (lmao never).
  • Checked up on crest upgrades in Atla. Nothing.

I took a break from the game after beating the first ending, was planning on picking it up again but with the expansion being announced I might just wait... Provided it comes out sooner rather than later. I can only imagine that there's going to be tons of dialogue differences depending on what act you choose to engage with the content in.

Ok they were ridiculously easy, I shouldn't have worried. They still sliced me up a bunch right in the beginning of the second phase when I couldn't adjust to the change of tempo. Phase 3 was easier. Plenty of time for healing and the pattern attack is easy to avoid. Cool fight. I wish they were even faster.

What I didn't like was running to them, going from the right there are two aggressive fuckers who hit for 2 masks and are too tall to jump over. I wait for the first bug to take to the air (which it might not before it pushes me out of the room), then run to the second bug and wait before it awakens and takes to the air. Meanwhile the first bug is chasing me. I got hit thrice and nearly lost my beads there (I had a mask trinket on and quit to bench on time). If the boss was as hard as I wanted it to be, this would be a major pain.

Anyway, fuck this game, why'd you put the path of pain into the regular fucking game. What a shitshow. Also --

-- this cockwhore looks invincible. I hit the two in the arena with slicy wheels (from Five Eyes) but there's one on the path to the oil (?) and it'd eat through my shard stash.

IMPORTANT EDIT: this nigger ^ is dumb and doesn't get aggroed on attack, therefore on the way to the clockwork arena you can shoot him in the back with basic knives when he walks away (takes 4 knives). A waste of time but not too hard on the wallet.

Please tell me if I'm supposed to do these jumps at this time. I have needle jump and wall cling but no double jump yet. There are new areas (High Halls, Sands of Karak, Sinner's Path) and Wormways and they all look like ass.
edit: it is, and there's an arena battle afterward.
Got the mask shard from Atla (easy with needle jump, plus I got gud), now I need 750 beads to buy the last one for the seventh mask.

edit: got the mask and rescued the other courier from Sinner's Path. Now I see how to do the deliveries. The bad news is cooking ingredients appear to follow a progression: starting area, center, and now Sinner's Path, other stuff may be further in the game, and the achievement comes after unlocking all bellways and pneumotubes on Steam's global board.

final update for today:
  • beat the clockwork arena fight (shot up the final bug with boomerangs -- could've used pimp pillows if I knew what'd be up),
  • got the oil,
  • beat the pneumotube arena fight near the baths (finally! really hated going through the citadel, not that I will be going much from now on, almost everything else is cleared),
  • made two deliveries (to Pilgrim's Rest and Bone Bottom).
    • Courier's Rasher doesn't look doable, with the scales room in the way. I should try preclearing the path (eventually) but there's more stuff to do for now, I have Whispering Vault and Sinner's Path and could try Wormways.
  • rescued Sherma (led the first fatty all the way to the left, killed him and spammed slicey wheels; the sword upgrade helped to mop up the other two fatties)
    • for a moment I hoped the pale thing Sherma found was another oil. It was a whole spool, which isn't bad, I have 6 extra now and the effect is noticeable.

Minor update:
  • killed Mosswing (huge slicy fly) in lower right Greymoor (reward: 160 shards, nigga please)
  • killed Savage Beastfly (chonky bouncy fly) in Far Fields on the lava platforms where the old robot boss was (reward: mask piece IIRC)
    • I beat the first beastfly for the beast crest without sword upgrades when I got lucky with the types of adds it spawned and the boss killing adds. (It was a slog and I hated it.) This fucker almost never kills its adds and they're dangerous, they need to be hegale'd straight away. When the boss spawned two adds at once, I spammed boomerang, killed both, then it spawned one more and the add killed me while the boss died to boomerangs.
  • speaking of crests, tried the lava arena in the shrine in Far Fields (with the wall cling, obviously), got to slicy floaters (two small flies - lava fucker - two slicy floaters - ???), gave up. Disappointed with the game, the shrine (probably) awards another crest, which are supposed to be roughly equivalent and the new one will need upgrades, it doesn't make sense to gatekeep this content, let me enjoy different fighting styles. As it is, Reaper is the best by far (for me). Aestheticaly, I'd rather be using Hunter, Reaper makes Hornet feel too much like HK.
  • Got my own home! This is rather far down the achievement list, below Trobbio, the three song areas, and a hidden achievement. I've also had Flea Finder for quite a while. Maybe I should try the Courier Rasher if people are this bad at completionism.
