I need some insight kiwi bros. So I ended up getting the witch curse. Thing is I only have 1 of the 3 songs to go to what I understand is the big bad. I can rollback a save, but it involves having to do ALL of not blight town again and that fucking area was testing my patience quite a bit. I did check a guide about purging the curse, but I also see it means losing out on a missable ending. I'm keeping myself blind on purpose for the most part, so, is the cursed witch whatever ending worth having to power through at least 2 areas I know dick about on hard mode or to redo blight town again or should I save myself the grief, purge the curse and watch a youtube video?

Not worth it at all. It's literally a trophy and a cutscene. Go and rid yourself of AIDS asap

Not really worth. It's literally just a short cutscene and an achievement.
it would be easier and probably faster to get this ending on a second playthrough.

You get a trophy, a different cutscene and a menu style. Not worth in the slightest, do it later, I managed to get it alongside the speedrun trophy anyway.

Thank you for the insight and honestly, I was hoping to hear this.

While I'm here, I really like the game, I'm not sure if I like it more than Hollow Knight, but it's definitely better than any other metroidvania's I've played in recent years.

I'd say its better but not by a wide margin.
The obscene amount of content makes a specific part of the game feels more like it could have been sold as DLC, the expanded mobility is a godsend, items are mostly well balanced and enemies are nice to fight, tho the increased difficulty and difficulty spikes can be overwhelming to some.

I don't really get how anyone could argue Silksong is better than HK, the only thing that might be an improvement is the combat, and even that's with having way less customisation and horrendous grinding.

I think the slot constraint means there's more practical customisation (though I think a couple of the blues could have been yellows). In HK you can equip whatever but most of the 30 or whatever badges are clear dogshit you never use.
Plus the fact that there's different weapons is huge by itself. We all have our favourites and beat bosses with distinct loadouts. In HK it's all fixed besides one spell you can mutate a bit.

HK is also baby-easy aside from that one DLC and the map/exploration stuff is kinda trash besides the early/central areas since they were rushed.

Right now I'm banging my head with the First Sinner. Cured myself of AIDs. Will insist for a while longer and if not will park it and try and get the 9th life. the only thing that has activelly pissed me off is blight town, aside from that it's good. At the start felt too linear but it really opened up and I have some stuff to explore before going for the songs again.

I prefer Silksong bosses and there's a fair balances when it comes to areas, characters and soundtrack.
I honestly had to farm much less in Silksong than in HK, at least when it comes to my second and further playthroughs.
Don't think I ever used more than a couples of bundles either, and I'm pretty sure I still have all 7 beast shards even in my first save.
Like... You can get the magnetite brooch very shortly after meeting Jerma, and same goes for the shard pendant.

Took a break to play an earthbound-wannabe RPG, but I do intend to come back to Silksong.

It's not like the hearts we're expected to rip out are going anywhere.

I have nearly 180 hours in the game. I have gotten 100% of the achievements. I have beaten the game 100% 3 times.

I have gotten every Memento, except one.

I will NEVER get the Guardian's Memento. I will NEVER get 91+ in Flea Dodge. Even getting 82 took at least 40 minutes of attempts.

It's a pain in the ass, but once you get into the rhythm of it, it gets easier (it just takes a while). I was listening to a podcast while I was doing it to partially distract me from the frustration of it. I think I ended up beating it by one second.

I gave Silksong another go on a fresh save. The game is still unforgiving, incredibly difficult and frustrating even in the beginning. I died in the first gauntlet (to open the gate) in the marrow. There’s just no way any speedrun or steel soul achievements are possible. 130 hours btw.

Completed Steel soul save with all mementos, tools, spells, Sylphsong (all crests upgraded) and even purple quill obtainable by not buying the quill until the final act.
My only regret is that i missed 2 beast shards by not skipping moorwing and skull tyrant at the beginning, as well as using frayed, heavy and a single pale rosary.

Save for the speedrun completition, collected almost nothing, next to the final boss with cursed crest, which I defeated in less than 4 hours.

My save files, I never pick the first one on the left/right when starting a new game, the first one belongs to a steel soul run I failed either at the citadel or in the mossy ruins, I did got the speed completition trophy with the stell soul save, but I spent an additional 10 hours to get the final memento.

I have played this game for around 192 hours.
Git gud or give up, scrublord.

No, I’d rather just install a mod that makes the game actually enjoyable. It has the bones for it.

I’m as gud at the game as I’ll reasonably get. The game just asks for too much.
What, don't you enjoy grinding currency for 10 hours? Or having an entire build that is dependent on grinding and can cheese everything in the game if you spend enough?
