How the hell do you beat the High Halls gauntlet without tool spam, this shit is filtering me hard no matter what skills/tool combination I bring.
  • Venom+cogflies and juice are good as far as red tools go.
  • Crest choice is really up to you since hunter, wanderer, architect, and beast are all really good with enemy gauntlets in my experience. Reaper's silk balls can sometimes be in bad spots with gauntlets when more enemies spawn in so maybe not that one though. I could never really get the hang of shaman or witch so no comment there. I won with wanderer.
  • Silk spear was the most helpful silk skill for me due to the pierce being able to easily nail 2-3 guys in one hit.
  • For flying guys the safest place is pretty much always directly under them while you needle their butts to death. Watch out for flanks with other enemies of course.
  • For the solo big guy you want to get into a rhythm of wait for the telegraph: for basic forward swings, dash away, clawline back into them, swing once or twice, get ready for the next attack. For the leaps, either dash under or away, clawline back into them if away, one or two hits, next attack. Shock wave attack: just double jump over the wave then counterattack a couple times, next attack.
  • For the two big guys at the end: NEVER CLAWLINE INTO THEM UNTIL ONE OF THEM DIES. Dump any remaining tools and silk spears to kill one asap while keeping them both to one side of you at all times. If you're getting cornered then wall jump then dash+clawline over them and pray neither of them jump.
  • If you fulfil Shakra's wish she'll join in with you for part of it.

Anyway that's all I got. Good luck, and don't be afraid to sleep on it to build that muscle memory. It's hard.

You can do it later and get Garmond to help you, if you encounter him 3 times in the citadel and beat him in a duel in a large room to the right of songclave.
Shakira can also help you, although I'm not really sure about the exact requirements for her to appear.

I think you need to beat her in a duel like Garmond, which happens only after you complete her quest, after buying all her maps, since the last one is in Bilewater, you can't get her help until you are in late game, Garmond is relatively simpler as you only need to explore whispering vaults and he finding him across the citadel isn't as hard as it sounds, though the room you meet him is after an hidden passage that can be a little annoying to find.

Using an AoE silks skill like Thread storm or Cross stitch also help with the gauntlet since it hits all enemies around you.

The map in Bilewater can be accessed in act 1. You only need wall climb.

There are a couple zones that require double jump to access though.

I just got the thing that lets me see the % complete
77% in 45h, this game is fucking huge. I was expecting to be at 85+%
Also, Trobio 2 can fuck off, his attacks particles are not visible enough and some of his combos like bombs+huricane feel outright undodgeable depending on how the bombs decide to land.

After trying it a few more times - already have Garmond/disabled the clawmaidens - and determining that it is simply a skill issue I have moved on to collect an additional mask (total of eight), volt filament, and voltvessels to compensate. Might as well be cleaning up the rest of the Act II and previously inaccessible Act I areas while I can

The beast crest gives a different challenge animation. What's the difference? Isn't it just a way to aggro enemies?
Does it do something else that I'm missing?

I've compared the basic, beast, and throwing rings taunts and they all had the same aggro range as far as I could tell. I think it's only just visually different.

inb4 someone finds some weirdly specific interaction in the middle of bumfuck nowhere with either the beast or ring taunts

The Guardian's Memento is now mine.

Hot take: Flea Dodge is worse than Flea Juggle. At least Flea Juggle is purely skill. Flea Dodge has too much RNG fuckery involved after the 50 second mark. It was either my winning round or the one right before it where I had the Giant Flea destroy all platforms immediately followed by Vog chucking a spear right at me before the platforms respawned. The times I died at the 93 second mark hurt me more than it did the time I lost at 55 fleas juggled.

That said, I do hate that landing on the ground instead of the stage is an insta-fail in Flea Juggle, while the fleas are free to fall off the stage and count against me. That had me a little tilted a few times.

Flea Dodge is pretty forgiving at least, you can get hit and then rescued by being hit again, air-stall a bunch or have a harpoon ready to recover most of the time if you're mindful of that option. Probably you could even just treat it like flea pogo 2.0 and not touch the platforms if you wanted.

Juggle would still be the worst one even if you got a point for each hit instead of every 3 hits or whatever.

Im at bilewater, i want to shove my fucking hand up the team cherry's ass so fucking far that my hand gets embedded into their jaw and i can puppet their words like a muppet. Its the trifecta of complete bullshit
Darkness that would make Black Mesa jealous
Enemies that change position between attempts meaning consistency is a no go
SO. FUCKING. LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG.
Soo, as it turns out i went in bilewater backwards from sinners road rather than the front way, and i still maintain going from sinners road is insanely hard. I discovered the front way and got through no problem. I also beat Trobilo, who's gibberish kept reminding me of Balan Wonderworld, and finished with Mount Fay, which imo has been my favorite location so far.

Beat act 3 and all optional bosses.

Game is kind of mid. If Silksong came out before Hollow Knight nobody would have cared about the sequel. It has a very different taste than Hollow Knight and doesnt work as a sequel.

Whole game felt like a giant dlc for Hollow Knight and the devs pretty clearly thought that path of pain and the dlc boss fightd were peak for the series. Act 1 is just bad. Act 2 it stops being bad you can actually explore and find meaningful upgrades and have actual metroidvania gameplay. But at that point the taste is set.

It kind of reminded me of going from Dark Souls to Sekiro. Except Sekiro is much more upfront that it expects different things of you and wants mastery of core systems instead of "builds".

So according to a random reddit post (a), the latest beta branch of Silksong makes it so that Verdania begins regrowing after you kill the Green Prince..
n1wrvuumo4tf1.pngKilling the only explicitly gay character causes nature to heal.

What did Team Cherry mean by this?

basic taunt can actually damage nearby enemies if they are really close... The ring taunt doesn't. I don't know about the beast taunt.

I am still enjoying this game immensely, even at my slow as balls pace.

the most what

The mist place is fucking random with enemies that can phase through walls and move quick as hell.

I’m pretty sure I gotta follow the flies, because they move certain directions after I play the needolin… but still so many traps and annoying enemies give me bile water any day.
