I finally got Lace 2 and got the act3 ending (against my better judgment) and the new act promptly punched my face in. An ending is an ending, I’m done for now.

Final game time: 92h

Probably but why would you do that, it's the best part of the fight...
Also, if you count 2nd phase when she makes her scream and 3rd phase after you knock her down the first time then she has 4 phases.
Alright, just defeated her (with some help from the tacks). She managed to break my skull mask but I used the tendrils at the right time so I had 3 masks by the time I killed her

Quite slow, but I wanted to complete the hunter's journal before defeating Lace.

Like almost all the bosses here the thing is about keeping up with their pace and having quick reflexes to get away from their attacks if you mess up, I didn't like how at times she jumps right in front of you as if she were a cyclist in the middle of the road and dealing double damage, but other than that her attacks are telegraphed and don't suck too much, which is good. The end of the fight felt a little abrupt since I was expecting something more like how Radiance's fight ends, but it's still a good fight

I find it very lame that this ending is triggered by a fucking bulletin board side-quest.
I assume that's just to make sure you can't miss it since I never saw it on a bulletin board: Snail priest dude was bouncing around yelling to get my attention and he gave it directly.
But I imagine by that point it's possible some players would never have a reason to visit songclave; I was only there because that vendor and the bellhaven one exchange different denominations of rosaries.

Final game time: 92h
Holy shit, and rip.
I enjoyed Act 3 a lot; the actual story quests pretty much begin there... and it could maybe be pretty short if you just go where you're told, if you felt like coming back to it.
There's only a few mandatory bosses. Though you might find a couple of em kinda rough (bugstein and smough if you haven't done em yet, Seth who was one of my favourite fights in the game, and Lace 3) if you don't enjoy the Lace style of dude, though.

Probably about to start act 3, running out of side bosses that I have access to and looks like I've explored all the act 2 areas.
At 60 hours, nice game!

Im at bilewater, i want to shove my fucking hand up the team cherry's ass so fucking far that my hand gets embedded into their jaw and i can puppet their words like a muppet. Its the trifecta of complete bullshit
Darkness that would make Black Mesa jealous
Enemies that change position between attempts meaning consistency is a no go
SO. FUCKING. LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG.

I fully explored bilewater and I really don't get the frustration around it, I did understand hubters march, it didn't feel unfair to me and I beat groal in 8 tries.
Maybe that's because I had the wreath.

Nah, I never used it and I liked the place. The maggots are harmless if you don't fuck with the dart guys and you don't need silk until the gauntlet. And you get enough from pogoing mosquitos on the way up for a cleanse anyway, probably.
Plus there's that cave full of free silk above the arena, which I'll keep mentioning for anyone who'd prefer to find it before the boss instead of afterwards like I did.

Honestly, I kinda love Groal the great, the build-up around him and the gauntlet preceding the fight.
Hornet is traversing this toxic wasteland infested with parasites, wildlife regenerates and explodes, natives broke the city's bench, hid away the one they made and set traps all over the place, with the ones she encounter vanishing as suddently as they appear after attacking and jumping around so, when she finally reach their village and they lock the door behind, they are not surrounding her, they are cornering themselves for Hornet to finally beat the shit out of them: the stupid leaping guys can dive into the maggots, but they must eventually come out for air and get smacked, the trappers think they have height advantage by flying, but the reason Hornet reached them was that she had unlocked double jump, infected mosquitoes are not gonna regenerate, so they are either just free silk or, if well timed, free explosives that can be used use to kill more enemies in one feel swoop and the giant trap is way too slow and predictable for it to damage her, but rather will eventually become a liability for them later.
Groal himself is a filthy bastard that plays dirty, and yet Hornet can completely outplay him with his very own moves: the maggot infested water is an actual safe spot for the whole fight, as the only thing that can reach Hornet there, his explosive blobs, gets cancelled; if he tries to suck Hornet, she can either take the opportunity to shred him from inside or simply throw explosives in his mouth, He may chicken out and try to summon minions and activate the trap, at the same time, which only results killing his own underling and while the vengeful spirit cannot be thrown back at him, that move is actually a good moment to strike him from above.
Also, I absolutely love Cut through, probably one of the best tracks in the game.

Second Lace is really hard, but her theme has always been great and the walkback is braindead easy so I really cannot possibly get mad. Her fighting style is all about trying to fake you out and I just have to stop falling for it :optimistic:

The Lace fights are built for kiwis, because to win you have to NOT take the bait.

Also it feels like she does certain moves more if you fall for them. One run where I did very well at the start it felt like it was a pretty even mix of them all, but another where I fell for the mid air spin a bunch at the start she would keep doing it over and over.

Yeah, Lace has a tendency to spam the same move. She mainly does the air spin whenever you are in the air and she's not already attacking, so being airborne for too long is actually a hazard

Beat second lace after a dozen or so tries, really fun fight!

So i work all day, dawn to dusk fairly frequently, i get home, i shower, i spend time with the family, then to unwind i play a game that is frustrating and exhausting all by itself. I think im a couple degrees off from people who burn themselves with cigarettes for pleasure. When im done with this maybe ill play i want to be the guy

I started liking him a bit more when I realized he was supposed to be a Hollow Knight equivalent of a tinpot dictator.
>Seizes power due to a crisis caused by a foreign power
>Despotic leader who titles himself great
>Steals weapon secrets and kills people trying to help him (The Snail Shaman and the third Pinstress sister)
>Fat fuck
>Doesn't play fair
>Doesn't actually fix the problem (all the pollution)

How the hell do you beat the High Halls gauntlet without tool spam, this shit is filtering me hard no matter what skills/tool combination I bring.
