I think a lot of other people may have just had the same idea as Humble Bundle isn't working for me at the moment. I should probably just just GOG but I like having all my games in the same place.
Yeah it's hurting my autism that I just have 1 game on GOG galaxy and the rest on steam. Simply had to bite the bullet. Hope I didn't need steam for DS5 support.

Why Can't Team Cherry Open Pre-Orders for people to purchase it without them having to deal with the Steam Store crashing?

Currently over a quarter million people playing on Steam alone mid-day on a week day, not accounting for Xbox, Playstation and Switch. I remember the devs said in an interview a few weeks ago that Hollow Knight sold around 15 millions copies up until this point. I feel like Silksong is going to hit those sales in a fraction of the time. Not bad for three Australians. They apparently also went with a regional pricing model which can only help move copies.

Humble Bundle has Steam keys. Buying it from there works fine.

Cheers, I was about to give up on Steam. I really wanted to get some time in before going back to my second shift.

These guys have been earning one million dollars an hour since release.

It is now the third most played game on steam.

Genuinely: Had this dropped a year after the original, it would've been lukewarm at best. I swear gaming has become a game's hype reaching 500%, then it drops, it's mediocre, and people just go "Oh okay, haha, aight. Anyway my next game is:"
Every time. In fact, the game can be awful but gamers will buy the next one as long as it's an IP they recognize. Game devs can take shit in their face and they'll pay for seconds.
At this point, gamers deserve it.

Xbox doesnt have a download button.
Playstation pulled the game.
Switch 2 cant open the page.
Steam payment servers cant handle it.
A team of three people took down every major platform with one release.

It's because these studios are either owned or bought by publicly traded companies which are legally required to be as greedy as possible.

Team cherry, a privately owned business, self publishing on steam, owned by valve, a privately owned business, means you can get away with wasting your money on pointless endeavors like customer retention and creating a legacy. That would never fly with the shareholders.
Shareholders are such a deranged concept as they are now. It's like investing in a dairy farm, and forcing the farmer to slaughter their cattle for meat.

This isn't a case of "Oh it's the new Call of Duty slop shooter I'ma buy it"

This is a case of "The first game was a masterpiece and I can't wait for the sequel"

The game industry is a rotted mess, but it's genuinely sad that the default response to any hype about a potentially good game is "it's gonna be bad"

I had the first game sitting in my backlog for a while on multiple platforms. Decided to pick it back up and play through it before Silksong came and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The opening hour or so is a bit of a crawl, but once you have your compass, maps, and a few movement abilities unlocked, the game really shines. The hand-drawn art and style direction are great and lends a lot to the atmosphere. I would still put Blasphemous slightly above it in terms of atmosphere, but Hollow Knight is much better in gameplay. When you consider Hollow Knight got additional content added free of charge after release and the $15 price point, it punches way above its weight in terms of value. It feels like a game made by people who want to make games that they themselves enjoy.

4chan's /v/ board has threads about the Steam charts. Users are saying it can't hit 400k and it when it hit 400k, users then claim it can't hit 500k. This is to piss off some tranny excited for the game.

Didn't realize nor care this game was out but saw the Community Happening, as usual the Farms is the greatest news source on the internet.

Grabbed it from Xbox Game Pass for PC just now, it's stuck at 0% downloading. Never seen anything like this in my life, damn.

If it's this bad for a Metroidvania, GTA 6 is probably gonna take down every platform and the whole damn power grid.

Only had an hour to play, got through 2 bosses in that time though. Initial thoughts/impressions:

The movement is very nice, feels better than 1 at least so far. Hornets moveset in general feels very nice to play.
Backgrounds and animations are as gorgeous as the first game. Voicework (or whatever you want to call it) is also better.
Music is nice, nothing stands out so far but it fits very well.

Biggest change? Pogo-ing enemies is out, at least at the start, might be a thing later
RIP pogoing enemies to sequence skip sections.

Pogoing might be out, but did you start with any movement abilities the Knight didn't? Or get more faster? Genuine question

Do you think journos would have had negative opinions of the game?
