While I don't think it quite lives up to its potential (it's obvious a lot of things like the house points system got cut to make a deadline), I'm still impressed by how many mechanics are still present in the final game. Hopefully the sequel can address the cuts and maybe give us new areas to explore too, like foreign schools. They don't have to be as big or detailed as Hogwarts, you can just make the excuse that you can't explore everything since you're not a native student.

I see Hogwarts Legacy on sale for $30 somewhere. I don't think it has Smart Delivery. It looks like a fun game itself without any knowledge of Harry Potter or the controversy.

I would have loved some Bully-esque components to it, more everyday Wizarding school stuff to do.

Time to argue about what cheeses they serve at Hogwarts then, I'm guessing.
Well since it's based in England, cheddar. Nothing but cheddar, but it's magical cheddar that changes colors based on your mood.

I'm not that far into the game yet, but I can already tell that the people calling it mid tier Ubislop are trannies coping. This game is pure SOVL, even with the roughness of the Switch version. There is so much to see, puzzles to solve and treasures to collect. It really is exactly what you've been waiting for from a Harry Potter game, I'm glad I didn't wrote it off during the delays.

Honestly, the worst part is the lack of enemy variety. It's very much a God of War (PS4) or Breath of the Wild issue where they played it sort of safe in the first game and will most likely expand in the sequel.

Yeah, I find it really frustrating that the "Hogwarts" part is so minor. The entire game should have taken place on the school and grounds. It should have been a stealth Bully reboot.

Finally playing this game on the switch

Got to the 3 broomstick and that is so obviously a man it's not even funny. Did Null ever react to that? Shit is so funny

I know nothing of the Switch version but wait until you get further into the game and every single character finds time go out of their way in saying how great Shirona is, how brave, how helpful. I got as far as a quest where I'm collecting letters for someone and they're all about how Shirona "helped me be my trueself" and so on and just had enough.

There's a mod available on PC that switches his lines to an AI generated female voice which is the only way I could play the game without it spoiling things for me. Still one very homely woman, though.

I used to live in the sort of funcle country where Sirona was what the average woman looked like, so they didn't really stand out to me. That voice though, lord help me I laughed so hard at it.

It’s heavily implied to a modern audience that Sirona is a male, but I choose to read it as Sirona being a masculine witch that everyone thought was a boy as a child. The part I’m most amused by is the beast breeding, in which you need to have a male and female in the same vivarium for it to work.

Every other language dub it's a woman's voice if I remember right, only the English must suffer this.

Still has the Keffals face. Woman's voice or no, Sirona is one ugly dude. It has to be a not-so-subtle jab, and then to make everyone yap about Sirona this, Sirona that. Like real life where trannies expect asspats all day long.
I love how it's impossible to portray a troon in a good way; either the troon is realistic - an ogre that sticks out, or the troon looks like a normal woman in which case 1) it might as well not be a troon and 2) some tranny somewhere is tearing his hair out because he'll never look like that and he knows it.

So the game has a legit honest to god troon(in the 1800s mind you) and the trannies STILL had a meltdown and wanted to murder JKR? Over what, not making the troon even uglier so they could identify with it?
lol, lmao even. That's what you get for even trying to appeal to them at all, it will NEVER be enough
The original trilogy of games(plus the quidditch one) still reign supreme

I'd rate Legacy alongside them, but a sequel needs all the missing components like quidditch, greater emphasis on school life etc. to truly be the best HP game.
Less diversity would be nice, too. Nothing like playing a game set in 1800's England and having a bunch of Africans wandering around and one even bragging that her school in Africa is better than Hogwarts...
