Hopefully it fixes the bug where I can't talk to the plant merchant in hogsmeade. I wanna buy some sView attachment 4530645
New patch dropped for the game today. No idea what's in it, though, as the devs apparently cannot into patch notes on Steam.
In universe answer? Killing curse is for nothing but killing. It requires pure malice on your part and cannot be deflected or used in any other way. There's also potions and magic that I presume can probably heal severe burns, whereas you can't reverse being dead as fuck without quadrupling down on evil behavior. You could conceivably use incendio for beneficial purposes. You can only use Avada Kedavra to kill niggers. Can some explain to me why the killing curse, which is instant death is bad, but the use of fire curses if okay?
This is like suggesting using White Phosphorus is fine while shooting the target in the head with an anti-material rifle is bad.
Switch Pro Controller support updates? PRAISE THE LORD.Here are the patch notes. According to someone that posted in Steam, WB doesn't put patch notes on Steam.
I figure it's mainly a taboo like the Sith/Jedi thing where you get to have one bad day and decide you're 100% evil because everyone's fucking neurotic about it.Can some explain to me why the killing curse, which is instant death is bad, but the use of fire curses if okay?

I'd figure the taboo is mostly about the method of casting them which require quite a bit of hatred... which I think is probably an unhealthy thing to practice. That and the soul ripping thing.I figure it's mainly a taboo like the Sith/Jedi thing where you get to have one bad day and decide you're 100% evil because everyone's fucking neurotic about it.
Obviously burning people to death is arguably 'worse' but wizards ain't perfect so this is one of their complexes.
Plus I guess maybe you can potentially defend against other stuff so they don't want kids having nukes in their pocket in a school where everyone gets a gun. Totally amoral sorcerer perversions are for after you graduate
That single decision is why I feel this game was designed primarily with Console in mind, then ported to a PC build. It's probably wrong, but not having an Action Bar is a surprising decision with how many spells you swap between (hell, I threw literally every Utility spell on one of the Spell Sets, just to stop swapping them in and out...)Also I find myself wishing there was a regular 1-9 action bar. It’s way easier for me to hit the 5-9 keys than it is to switch back and forth between spell sets. I’m getting more used to it though.
Yep it’s obviously designed for console and since you have to spend talent points to upgrade the number of swaps it’s kinda lame. That single decision is why I feel this game was designed primarily with Console in mind, then ported to a PC build. I get my shit pushed in by melee enemies because of this constantly.I just wish block and dodge weren’t overlapped with the spells (you have to release the trigger fast enough to be able to block or it just does spell Y)
The idea is that the killing curse, like all unforgivable curses, is solely used to inflict pain/death; you have to put yourself in the mindset of pure murderous intent towards your target in order to use it, where as fire curses just makes fire which can be used for multiple non-violent deeds and doesn't require any malevolent or sadistic mindset in order to use.Can some explain to me why the killing curse, which is instant death is bad, but the use of fire curses if okay?

It sounds like the Wizarding World could use some firearms. The idea is that the killing curse, like all unforgivable curses, is solely used to inflict pain/death; you have to put yourself in the mindset of pure murderous intent towards your target in order to use it, where as fire curses just makes fire which can be used for multiple non-violent deeds and doesn't require any malevolent or sadistic mindset in order to use.
Well, we've got the Glockwarts mod and then there's the one that gives you a boomstick. It sounds like the Wizarding World could use some firearms.
That is some dumb fuck nigger shit, If I am gonna set a bitch on fire you should be in the mindset of pure murderous intent, god damn the moment lethal force becomes an option you need to switch to murdermonkey mode.
They'll probably do whatever CDPR did to make the Witcher 3 run on the Switch, I guess.Speaking of switch, how the hell is this game going to run on it? I am not playing the game, but a friend sent me some pics of the pc version and it looks incredible
I found a funny one where talking to a merchant mid-quest made my companion sprint around at top speed in a circle permanently so she couldn't take me to the next waypoint.Edit: Also got my first softlock. I was skipping dialogue and the next line just never came. The patchnotes seem to imply this has been fixed, but my internet is being shitty, so I can't download it yet.
It does lock on a per-item basis, which I prefer. So I've got all the ugly face items invisible for example but I can still change things up a little when I find a new scarf or something. It’s annoying that you can’t lock your appearance so you don’t have to constantly change it when you get better gear.
