The first U.S. Gantry railroad crossing. Sadly future incarnates would not be as metal as this.

Nguyen Ngoc Loan enjoying his long life as a pizza merchant in Northern Virginia, harassed by hippies till the bitter end.
The last time the photographer of the infamous picture met with him, a stall in the bathroom had graffiti which read "we know who you are, fucker."

Fuck hippies forever.

Before and after the famous execution picture of Nguyen Van Lem by Nguyen Ngoc Loan, Saigon, 1968:

(note the ARVN soldier on the left with the captured Norinco Type 56)
Edit: (also note the ARVN soldier in tiger stripe carrying a Tokarev pistol. Van Lem had just been caught literally red-handed murdering a ARVN Lt. Col., his wife, his six children, and his 80-year-old mother.)

IIRC the guy who took the photo regretted it for the rest of his life. Saying the image lacks context and was used in such a manner, and that if he could go back he would have never taken it.

bishopsgate-bombing.png

In 1993, The IRA bombed Bishopsgate, a district in The City of London (not to be confused with London itself). The bomb was stored in a tipper truck and had an explosive power of 1,200 kg of TNT. A mushroom cloud explosion could be seen rising from the surrounding areas. It severely damaged many of the surrounding buildings, most notably The NatWest Tower, the largest skyscraper in the City of London. It caused over £1 Billion worth of damages and almost bankrupted Lloyd's of London. It was the second most expensive terrorist attack ever, only surpassed by the September 11 Attacks.

The authorities were forewarned of the attack an hour prior, and due to it being a Saturday only one person was killed in the attack; a photographer who ignored the police's warning.

The World's Columbian Exposition of 1893.

I wish we still had classy, giant world fairs like this instead of the stupid futuristic showroom called "Expo" we have today.

AFAIK, Miura said he was not aware of Götz von Berlichingen when he created Guts... which is kind of weird, when you look at both the name and the prostethic.

Also, it doesn't have a cannon or crossbow.

The B17 is the definition of a bullet sponge. These bastards are so tough, you can blow car-sized holes into the fuselage and it'll still get back to an airfield.

Edit:

@Stephanie Bustcakes Sorry it was a brain fart mixup. Fixed.
