Operation Bagration ended in the encirclement of 400,000+ Germans and the absolute annihilation of Army Group Center. The losses of the operation were upwards of 1/4th of that of the Germans on the Eastern front and Army Group Center was considered one of the most experienced and well equipped of the Wehrmacht so these losses were especially devastating.

Over 70,000 soldiers were paraded through the streets of Moscow at the orders of Stalin in operation "The Great Waltz" and other major cities throughout the Soviet Union had similar marches at the same time. The event was broadcast to the world but was overshadowed in the west by the successes of the allied invasion of France. The Moscow parade took 90 minutes to pass despite the soldiers being ordered to quickmarch.

Truman is an extremely underrated president. He saw the USA through the end of ww2 (learning about the nukes just as he took office) and created the idea of the Berlin Airlift and continued FDR's policies.

He retired poor based on the idea that the presidency shouldn't be for sale and came from a common man background. He also served in ww1 and loved every minute of it.
