Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman was on cable television Friday night peddling conspiracy theories about extraterrestrial life forms, and nobody seems to have noticed.

In fairness, I didn’t really believe it until I saw it either. But there he was, John Podesta, speaking gravely over a foreboding soundtrack, lending his very earnest insights to “Ancient Aliens” on The History Channel. ( Don’t tell Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa ).

Podesta has long been in avid pursuit of the truth about UFOs, memorably reassuring the public during Clinton’s 2016 campaign he’d “convinced her that we need an effort to kind of go look at that and declassify as much as we can, so that people have their legitimate questions answered.”

And so it came to be, this former White House chief of staff and counselor to the president sat before “Ancient Aliens” cameras and unloaded enigmatic observations like, “The government seems to be completely unaccountable to the American public,” and “I've had a number of members of Congress, members of the U.S. Senate say to me, ‘Keep going at this. I'm really interested in it, but I can't say anything about it.’"

Behold this surreal exchange, wherein Podesta very seriously reflects on the Clinton campaign’s pro-alien declassification platform.

NARRATOR: Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, is well-known for his interest in UFO and extraterrestrial encounters, and according to him, so is she.

PODESTA: Secretary Clinton, likewise, was also kind of interested in the topic, and during the course of the campaign said that, if elected, she would have ordered a more thorough declassification review …

NARRATOR: Many believe that had Clinton won, there would have been a seismic shift from the government's long-held policy of secrecy concerning UFO investigations to a new policy of full disclosure.

PODESTA: The system of regulation that creates our secrecy system — what's top secret, what's confidential, these lower levels of classification — that's regulated and has been since the Truman administration by executive order of the president. The president sets forward the general rules of classification, and some presidents have been more forthcoming, wanted less secrecy, some have tightened the reins and wanted more secrecy. It makes a difference.

That provided an opening for another of the episode’s commentators to claim, “The CIA and the Pentagon, they were worried about Hillary Clinton, Secretary Clinton, all the statements she was making, winning the presidency, and going to the Pentagon and basically saying, ‘You are going to give me the information I need to disclose the extraterrestrial presence or I’m gonna fire every single one of you.’”

Which, in turn, set up another expert nicely to insist with dramatic flair: “John Podesta was trying to get ready to open up that we're not alone in the universe. All of that crashed when a different person became president of the United States.”

“November 8, 2016: Donald Trump was elected as America's next president,” the History Channel’s narrator intones. “There would be no disclosure of the secret UFO files.”

So, was Trump’s election really secured by scheming puppetmasters in Russia? Or were those strings perhaps pulled from a little further out of this world by aliens hoping to shield their species from exposure to our planet at this strange moment in time?

Jesus fucking Christ, shut up already. It's tiring hearing this bitch nag over something that happened two years ago.

Hillary running again as an anti-capitalist is probably one of the most absurd images my brain can (barely) comprehend.

That dang dirty Capitalism is what did it. Sure. Really.

I'm so sick of her. Just because she couldn't make Jurassic Park a real thing with a literal velociraptor for president doesn't mean I have to listen to this pigshit for decades to come.

And to think, most of the people I talk to consistently get angry whenever I bring her up. "Why don't you just let it go, she lost, who cares." Because she won't fuck off. Until there is a concerted effort to lock her in a goddamn padded cell somewhere, she's just going to keep making up stupid bullshit and taking a running leap at the fence to try and weasel her way back into politics to fuck everything up again.

"You think she's gone?! She's not gone! That's the whole point! She's never gone!"

This is so amazing, calling democrats socialist, is one step away from Deplorables part 2.

God Bless you Hillary, you are Americas Chris Chan.

How savage of a beat down would she get from other Dems in the primaries if she runs again?

I'm so pessimistic about what's left of the Democrat voting base I honestly think even the Bernouts would rally to support her because "muh Trump".

Besides, it's not like the opinion of the base really mattered all that much in the last primary, given how much she put her thumb on the scale and how much everyone who helped her do it still loves the woman.

About as bad as the one Bernie gave her, including the part where all her cronies bent the system to push him out of the race.

They still have absolutely no idea who to shove up there for the primaries. That drooling Kennedy doesn't even show up on the polls anymore. His popularity came and went about as quickly as he stepped off his spit-dribbled stage, and all of the top contenders so far are still useless nobodies that all have a thousand, little problems stamped all over their names. There's still a decent chunk of time left before the 2020 primaries, but the DNC is not in good shape if it still hasn't managed to wrangle up any fresh blood or anyone who could manage to even get the voters excited. Bernie Sanders isn't going to cut it anymore, he pissed off everyone in his voter base when he sold out in the 2016 election.

Every single one of these people would be brutally thrashed in a 1:1 fight. If they have any Aces up their sleeves, they need to hurry up and play them, because things aren't looking pretty, especially with how badly they've already been performing in all of the primaries leading up to the "Blue Wave" midterms.

Where is she getting poll numbers that said Iowa was full of commies from?!

Sure, blame capitalism Hillary, it has nothing to do with the fact that you're a lizard pretending to be a human being or anything.. Fuck off and die already.

This asinine crap reminds of what happened when Abe Lincoln triumphed over Stephen Douglass in 1860.

Prior, Abe and Steve were, at least on the political clock, like two tomcats, and they fought each other fiercely, first for a Senate seat, which Douglass won, then later for the Presidency, which Lincoln won. They even courted the same woman (Mary Todd), and Lincoln eventually won.

In both cases, despite all the spitting and snarling around their campaigns, both guys accepted defeat with grace. Lincoln just went back to quietly biding his time until 1860, when he managed to defeat Douglass for the presidency (there were two other candidates, but Douglass and Lincoln were the main contenders).

It's worth noting Douglass long held presidential ambitions, and he banked a lot of political capital to get it, but when he wound up losing to Lincoln, he showed up to the inauguration ceremony, and when Lincoln took off his stovepipe hat so he could give the oath of office, Douglass offered to hold it for him, and when asked why he did so:

"If I can't be President, then at least I can hold the President's hat."

He died not too long afterwards, but despite his political differences with Lincoln, one of his last acts before he died was to back up Lincoln on preservation of the Union as the Civil War started.

The point is that Douglass was a well-heeled Democrat with connections out the ass, considered the favorite for the presidency, and like Clinton, faced an upstart who no one really expected to pull a win out of his ass but did.

But unlike Clinton, he decided to get the fuck over it and accepted his defeat for what it was.

Lack of reciprocity is just one of the troubling traits the left is showing as of late, they only "accept" election results they like, ones they don't are illegetimate, somehow..... be it phantom Russian tampering, the archaic white-created Electoral College, the Alt-Right, racist bumpkins in red flyover states... they never, ever, ever say "we lost", they say "we were SUBVERTED" That's not how ANYONE who believes in and respects democratic republics should EVER think.

Even the most racist republican Bush supporter didn't delude themselves into thinking Obama somehow rigged the election, even the Birthers never organized a march that resulted in street-level beatings.....
