The funny thing is, it's actually really easy to fix it just by shifting focus to the griffin. Here:

-Open with Rose and Sage(?) scouting for work at some gathering area for adventurers/guardians, have some banter establishing them as friends
-Discover a listing regarding the escaped griffin, including the reward if caught
-Rose and Sage set out to catch this griffin, but start to disagree on how to go about it
-This disagreement causes them to fail their first attempt, they fight and decide to go their separate ways
-Show Rose has the strength/skill to physically catch the griffin but none of the knowledge about the animal, so she fails on her own
-On the flipside show Sage has knowledge of the creature, but no athletic prowess to actually carry out the capture, so she too fails
-Both realize they're wrong and make up
-Their combined effort now allows them to catch the griffin and collect the reward.

Boom, done. Now you've established that Rose and Sage are friends despite being opposites, that they work better as a team than they do on their own, and sprinkled in a little bit about this setting and what their occupation entails, and that Rose and Sage will likely be frequently strapped for cash and ensure the need for more adventures.

So I haven't been following this at all except at the beginning and I was wondering is this still a thing or did they take it out behind the barn and shoot it?

It might sound edgy but I'm actually looking forward for HGS to come out. I want to see this being ripped apart by critics/weebs and laugh at it myself. The only ones that will try to defend it are SJWs (oh wait, they are already doing it). Also, I'm 90% sure this show is going to be painfully mediocre AT BEST.

My God, HGS was supposed to be finished in early 2019 and all they've got as for now is 1st episode and "some cool animation from Korea"?

Because it's not like every shitty calarts show is animated in Korea. HGS would actually be unique if it had traditional cel animation (something that hasn't been done for years). This is going to be such a clusterfuck and I love it.
 
So if Raye wasn't allowed to write anything due to being a man, what was he allowed to do, be a creative consultant? A producer? Creator's credit? Is that why he's dicking around at Renaissance Fairs and why he can't show proof they're actually doing something because he's not actually there in person doing anything?

Not to mention, if it's the "Same studio that worked with GhiblI" animating, then I don't see the quality being all that hot since that same studio also has to deal with both DC projects and anime like Dororo, and probably only gave a shit for that so-called cool animation and half-assed the rest. If they did anything else, that is.

Wait is that actually ture? If it is then I think we reached full circle at this point where its apparently acceptable to do that. Anyways I probably at most just watch a few episodes on some other website just to see the how bad its going to be.
