hey is it legal to just make job ads that just request the applicants personal information then just sell that off to a third party.

I mean I'm pretty sure thats already being done but I was just having a big thunk when looking at that some applications that basically look like AI generated questionnaires that ask super invasive questions. I dunno why my employer needs all these details before they even interview me you'd think itd be "are you over 18 and are you an illegal immigrant y/n"
 
Doesn't that qualify as fraud?

Also, I know that asking sensitive personal questions like immigration status can open you up for a discrimination lawsuit because the plaintiff can argue they didn't get the job due to discrimination against their protected status. Good luck arguing to a judge you didn't discriminate because nobody got the non-existent job.

Can't commit unlawful discrimination in the work place if the work place isn't real.

In relation to the immigrant I meant in relation to do you have a right to work which seems to be their next question after they have your address, full name, contact number, email
