I spent most of the afternoon at the bookstore reading. While I was there a woman came in with her service dog, a female yellow lab. She gave the dog a little bowl of water and some of the workers came over to pet the dog. Before they left the dog picked up the leash in her mouth and gave it to the woman - I thought it was really cute.

I'm still awake. Doing school. Wanting to crash into slumber because it's 5 in the goddamn morning. Melatonin? That's a joke.
Where are my fellow insomniacs?
I bet everyone reading this is in Europe and it's in the afternoon or something that invalidates my question.

On campus on the way home from work, I encountered a cat wandering about outside. I'm not sure if it was a stray or a student's pet, but it was very people-friendly and not starving. I spent a minute petting it before giving it a couple pieces of salami that I bought earlier. My heart feels fulfilled right now.

When I graduate and move into a place of my own that's not a college dorm, the first thing I plan to do is get a cat.

I got done with everything this semester, finally. I haven't gotten my grades in yet, but I'm I did a little worse than last semester. I'm sure I got all B's, with some B-plusses, so not bad, considering I got burned out towards the end, and the fact that I had twice the amount of work compared to last semester.

I'm finally done with dealing with my roommate. I talked about him before. He's the annoying dolphin furry with aspergers, and everybody on campus hated him. He's graduating, so hopefully I'll never, ever, EVER, have to be in his presence again.

I got to apply for work so I can make a little money this summer, I'm also going to continue doing research, and getting ready for applying to grad and pharmacy school, but other than that, I'm just going to relax.

Got the grade I needed in the class I was having trouble with, so I'll be receiving my master's degree after all. My graduation is tomorrow, so that was great news.

Congratulations!!

Isn't a wonderful thing to be done with the drudgery of grad school? No more constant thesis revisions and dealing with academic politics! The days of scrounging for grants and stipends are over! You'll never have to assist teaching a class again! No more massive papers to write! You'll never have to worry about properly citing every single thing that you say again!

It's freedom! AUGH YEAH

As for me, same old, same old. Work is intense, but really enjoyable and occasionally entertaining in a dark humour kind of way.

I'm also working on getting an advanced certification diploma so that I can be fully certified in my area of specialization. The courses are pretty damn heavy, but so much more enjoyable than anything that I took during my graduate or professional education. Overall, things are pretty good. Going to go have a cup of chai now.

Just bored and waiting for final grades to post. I had a shitload to do this semester and I don't know what I was thinking with 16 credits. Might do some drawing to pass the time. I hope I got mostly As and Bs even with this semester cause I'm still a bit worried about that one class I forgot one of the tests in but felt like I did really well on the final anyway.

Update: Passed second accounting class with a B-, same exact grade as last semester. 20 more points on that first test I didn't do that great on and I would have made it out with a B.

If I do graduate, I'll try to become a blogger. One of my cousins knows someone who could help me out with it. Considering my major and the fact that you can write about pretty much anything, it seems like my ideal job. I just feel self-conscious about my writing skills and worry that I'll sound like a sperg.

Also, we're thinking about getting an in-ground pool. Would make the summer a lot less boring.

My moronic bio teacher put in a zero for a lab I didwhich dropped my grade drastically. From a solid B to a goddamn B-. Ugh.

I emailed him like 3 hours and he still hasn't reply.

I'm kind of bummed.

My parents loved Star Trek when I was a kid. We had a bunch of VHS tapes with episodes of TOS recorded on them, and we would get together and watch them as a family. When I was ten, a Star Trek convention was held in Albuquerque, and my dad took me to it. He bought me a Star Trek uniform shirt, a combadge pin, and a Tribble. The celebrity guest was Grace Lee Whitney, who played Yeoman Rand in the first season of TOS. I got to meet her and get her autograph. I remember that we were some of the last people in line to meet her, and she took a few minutes to talk to us and called me by name, which is really special when you're ten and it's a famous person doing it. It's one of the fondest memories I have of spending time with my father, and Grace Lee Whitney was a part of it.

Well, Grace Lee Whitney died today. I'm a little crushed.

My school laptop's screen somehow cracked this afternoon.
this is really bad since I got makeup work to do and now I can't finish my assignments at school and I don't want to pay the 50 dollar repair fee.
good thing I have a desktop at home.

spring spring spring spring spring

and i'm a little tiny bit stressed over being very low on funds because of some things that come up, but i've been working harder and reaping the benefits of that. really growing as a person, actually! i'll build my bank account back up.

i've been feeling and looking better.

cousin's wedding was today, annnnddd... well, i don't mean to sound like an asshole, but that future doesn't look so bright. really not looking up for that part of the family. or their shitty friends.

Pretty good, crossing my fingers for a job offer from some of my recent interviews, can't wait to break free from underemployment. Its just frustrating to have what I thought was a solid network take so long for things to materialize. All three positions would be great, but I'm really hoping for the position in Hong Kong. I used to live there and have plenty of friends still there. I miss it a lot. *sigh*

Glad that my GF has remained by my side despite some of my less sterling moments during this period. Also stunned by how much weight I've lost since dropping beer and switching to whiskey and club soda, wish I made this move sooner. Work and relationship stuff aside I really can't wait for Mad Max: Fury Road. I know it's unwise to fall for hype but goddamn I have not been so excited for a movie in a long time! Might break out my MFP shades

Got a flat tyre today. RACV came in 20 mins and i needed new tyres anyway & i've had a better set of rims that came with the car ready for this. So all went well. Got home and made $20USD in 45 mins of HIITapp clickwork :nicedude:

Between intermittently checking these forums and eating, I have been editing this group project paper for like three hours. I should really stop and do something else...
