Yeah that I know despite being in a community college, it can get rough. For me, the worst I have this semester is trying to do well in all the classes I have (algebra 2 class, Tagalog class, and U.S. history class). It doesn't help that doing very well kind in past semesters gives you the feeling of trying to do very well in the current semester (I managed to somehow make President's list twice) but then again I do expect the worst when it comes to things such as exams. Hopefully for me and anyone else in school right now, the finals won't be too much of a hassle, especially for those who REALLY don't want to fail their classes.
 
I was getting better but then the sickness decided to make a come back. I hate colds, blah.
 
So for the last two days I've been training for my new job as a grocery clerk. The "shifts" were full of watching training videos, reading training handbooks, and completing laggy training programs on the computer. I guess grocery stores are really dangerous places?? Nonetheless, I'm very glad all that boring training is over with!

Guess whose dumbass temp got her dumb ass fired before I got back from maternity leave?!

I just got back from going up to my office to help catch up everyone on how things in my department work since the temp decided after I left that it was more important to try and be office cougar (blech) than it was to actually do my job. Nothing like job security I guess...

She was spending time out in the shop distracting the techs from getting work done because she wanted to talk/flirt, she was behaving and dressing inappropriately (short skirts and too much makeup), and she was spending all her time making Excel spreadsheets of- I shit you not- dinners for the week, chore charts, and her kids' homework assignments. I have quite a few customers pissed at her so I'm going to need to sweet talk like a motherfucker when I get back in January. The kicker is that my last day was October 19th: she didn't even last a fucking month after I went out to have my baby. So now they have to make it through the rest of November and all of December with the three remaining administrative personnel in the service department managing my workload because Slutbag McOldTitties couldn't keep her hot flashes to herself.

Depending on the department you're working in, absolutely. Got to deal with this lovely thing at work a week or two ago...

It almost fell over on me while I was pulling it off the truck.
 
I work as a grocery checker/front end. I scan people's groceries and ring them up.

In the safety training videos they made a really big deal about keeping the floors clean of spills/debri because people can slip and fall on them. Is this a common thing?

According to my safety training videos aren't carbonated beverage pallets not allowed to be stacked up on each other up to a certain height? And how would you transport that thing or take the shrink wrap off without the contents falling apart everywhere?

She was also printing it all off. All the time. In multiple colors. My desk is the only one up there that has a color printer so she was burning through the colored inks like a brushfire through a dry area. However it was more the clothes and flirting that got her fired, and we're only just finding all the personal bullshit she was doing to look busy when she could be arsed to be sitting at the desk.

You don't. I couldn't even take that pallet jack out from underneath it, otherwise it would tumble over. I don't know what the grocery crew did with it, honestly. I'm imagining they had to re-stack it. Very carefully.

Yep, though I think the emphasis is there more because it's a huge liability issue. If a customer slips and busts their shit, the store can get sued back to the stone-age.

I had a great day. School was cancelled for the third day in a row due to the weather, so the wife and I decided to make the most of it. We went out for lunch (I love me some General Tso's chicken) and took the kids to a matinee movie.

Been up like an hour and nothing seems to be working today.

There's a weird silence everywhere, the boyfriend left for work like an hour ago and nobody is around. Nobody on MChat, nobody on Facebook, nobody anywhere. :shock:. Then I checked spergatory and got majorly sketched out due to that facebook redirect thread, my boyfriend left himself logged in and tbh he can be a bit of a sperg.

So after realising there's nobody around and I can't do much today, I went for a shower. The boyfriend has hidden all of my clothes. I'm not joking, and it fucking sucks. Ive spent ages looking for them, I dont even understand how he's managedto hide all of my clothes.

^This. "Slip and fall" is actually a term that has a special connection to grocery stores for ambulance chasers and their clients.
