Re: How Was Your Day?

Day keeps getting longer.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Playing the Wii after several months. Played Warioware Smooth Moves.

Re: How Was Your Day?

I'm at college right now. I have to go to a language center to do a exercise in Tagalog. I honestly hope I do well on it.

Re: How Was Your Day?

I'm going to the gym for the first time in a while. I wish I could just go running, but my neighborhood is pretty awful. The last time I took a simple walk to CVS I almost got mauled by a stray rottweiler.

Re: How Was Your Day?

I run 3 miles a day. Aren't I so cool? :asperchu: :briefs:

Yeah I barely ran a mile without wanting to kill myself. But dammit I was going to finish that mile!
(I've really destroyed my body in the passed few months by being a comatose little baby.)

Tagalog is hard. I've been married to a Filippino for three years and I honestly struggle so much with the words and pronunciation. I've reduced my wife and step-daughter to laughing fits so intense that they can scarcely breath when I try to read anything.

As for me, I had an awesome, productive day yesterday! I got up and played some Saint's Row IV, saw my wife off to work and the eldest off to school, worked out, mowed the lawn, deposited my wife's pay checks, got a passport made for my youngest daughter (in case of family emergency and we have to get to the Philippines in a hurry), had a light lunch, talked to my brother for a while on the phone, helped my eldest with her homework, got confirmation that I'll be able to start my new job soon, sold something on eBay, got application paperwork mailed off, got a short catnap and had a light dinner and finished the night with a couple of locally-brewed dark lagers and more Saint's Row IV. It was a good day. :hulkster:

Good for you! Running is so much fun. I hurt my knees during my stint in the Army and now running more than about half a mile leads to pain. Lots and lots of pain. So now I mostly do stationary cardio and aerobics.

Re: How Was Your Day?

As a response to my earlier post. Pretty much had a good day, I took what may as well of been an assessment that showed where I am as a beginner in Tagalog and I gave a a laugh or two to my history professor since he does crack a joke sometimes during class. Other than that, I managed to enjoy a turkey sandwich from the school.

Today I found out that I've lost 15 pounds since the end of January. I also had blood drawn to see how well my body will metabolize immunomodulators (I have to change my IBD medication). After the doctor's appointment I walked the dog and went to Five Guys for dinner.

I went to a high school football game and my team was up 54-30 with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. That's when we left.

Besides that, I just chilled out at home most of the day. I started on another online class today, my third of nine.

Re: How Was Your Day?

So my dog passed away this morning from cancer. I have had her since I was young and now I can't even think straight.

I'm so sorry to hear that. If you've had her for so long I'm sure she felt very loved.

I'm sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is always hard, especially when you've grown to think of them as almost an extension of yourself. My sympathies. |:(

Really sorry to hear that. I once had a dog I loved so much since I was born. I remembered I cried a lot when she passed away.....

Re: How Was Your Day?

I feel like a bit of a cunt moaning about something so trivial seeing as surtur has just had a real loss (serious love goes out to you man I know how hard it is to lose a childhood pet. I had a cat that died of hep a couple years back that family had since before I was born, but I imagine its worse with a dog as there's far more companionship there (:_( ), but I've lost my iPod and its driving me fucking mental.

Like honest to god mental. Searching angrily at 6am mental. It's a big iPod too (the classic) so it should not have just fucked off like this. If it doesn't come back soon things will start getting broken in the rage search. Normally if it goes missing it's back by now but it's been three days and I'm getting music withdrawal. Most annoying thing is the boyfriend doesn't understand why I need it so much; "it's only an iPod!" He says. "Fuck you, you twat that iPod is all of my music and my life, it's got me through more bullshit than you could ever imagine. It has known me longer than you. It has suffered so much abuse and stayed faithful, not even deleting my music once unlike you." I say.

Yeah I may have overreacted . Three days listening to the boyfriends shitty music taste (bullet for my valentine, funeral for a friend, emo shit) has made me like this. All I wanna do is listen to some Meatloaf and maybe some Paul McCartney. Something fucking happy, man.

Edit: I've finally had it. Told him put something happy on or I'm fucking off for a bit. He put on eminem. Fucking hell.

You lost your iPod? Please don't be an hero.

And my condolences, Surt. No matter how the CWCki might demean Chris for his feelings of loss towards Patti, losing a dog is losing a family member and that's always a harrowing experience. A couple years ago, I had to put my dog, Caesar, of 15 years down after his cancer had progressed to the point that he couldn't get up to come inside during a downfall. It was mid-afternoon and I didn't know what to do, so I wrapped a blanket round him and used a patio table to shield him from the rain. I called the vet and my heart sank when they said that they could take him before closing. I could hear him outside making the most horrible howling and I knew I didn't have any other choice. He was an average-sized Labrador-Retriever/Chow mix, but he had a camel hump on his back that added 15 lbs to him (it was a pea-sized tumour on his belly that got him, though). I took a tarp from the garage and used that to try and lift him into the back of the car. When I got to the vet, I went in with him and had my hand on his side as it happened. I could feel his eyes on me, but I couldn't bring myself to look at him until it was over. I had watched my dad die when I was 12, but I never did cry quite like this before. It's the blind trust an animal puts in that always gets to me. And I felt guilty that I had let it get it to that point when I could have stopped his pain sooner.

Re: How Was Your Day?

For me, I lost my iPhone 3's contents with no backups twice. Forgot how the first one happened, but the second one is due to the iOS update. I tried to calm down myself at that time because there was a lot of content.

Re: How Was Your Day?

I lost a Dell desktop a few years ago due to a hard drive failure. It was a present from my parents when I went to college, and I had just tons and tons of shit on there. Comics I had drawn, stories I had written, all my papers from high school and college, nearly 20 GB of music--all gone. I literally called my Mom up and cried when that happened.

Fortunately, I had hard copies of my school papers printed, but if I ever want a digital copy of my work then I'm going to have to go back and manually re-type it. The music I had backed up to CDs.

But yeah, it blew so hard.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Today was going so smooth until I had that one customer who was being rude for no valid reason - he just didn't like our policy and decided to give me hell for it. It's sad because I try to come off as apologetic and understanding as I can but I really can't handle when people are going to argue with me when there's nothing I can do. I hate customers who think they're entitled to walk all over anyone just because they're on the clock and can't argue about it.

It's probably no real consolation, but look up OCR scanning - you can potentially get all your stuff in a Word format and many printing places will provide that service.

Surtur - I'm really sorry to hear about your loss and hope you're doing ok.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Landed in London for the semester. Not too shabby an arrangement, I'd say, from the look of things.
