Re: How Was Your Day?

I have been thinking a lot about suicide lately. Not wistfully – I no longer have the passion for life to be excited about death – but as some inevitable event waiting for me in the distance, and as I watch it approaching me, however slowly, I feel no relief, shame or fear, but rather an overwhelming wave of indifference; an aggressive form of boredom.

I have lost all thirst for art, a supposed, if twisted, reflection of life, and even the magic of the reverse where life somehow imitates art I find to be as shallow as the source material. All art is really quite pointless, as is reality. It tires me. Everything does, I suppose. I think I need rest.

Did I post that? Does it matter?

You should see a mental health professional. Immediately.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Christ-ian, please find someone to talk to, it doesn't even have to be a health professional - even just a friend sometimes helps. I hope everything's okay.

Re: How Was Your Day?

I've misplaced my car keys. It is literally the worst thing that has ever happened to anyone, ever, throughout all of history...times, like, a million.

I once started digging through my pockets for a credit card while standing at a grocery store checkout, and realized I left it at home.

Check and mate.

I know that feel. I once walked into a starbucks without my wallet because I thought my credit card was in my pocket. When I went to go pay, I pulled out the card but it was actually a key-card I use at work that I'd left in my pants pocket. *yawn*

Re: How Was Your Day?

I do talk to professionals; they just don't give me the help I would need, if there even is any.

The very existential notion of waiting for the day coming tomorrow is the very idea and rationality for growth and evolution, but to me that elemental branch is constantly withering away for me. Yes, all of life is withering away, and I am too catatonic to be alarmed.

I have, on more than one occasion, been told by a waiter "Enjoy your meal," and responded with "You too."

Swish.

Re: How Was Your Day?

My day was going fine until I got an email from my Dad, who literally accused me of "holding his grandchildren for ransom" because I don't live closer to him. He also gave me a run-down on my worth as a person and explained why I'm an idiot.

What the hell, Dad.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Sorry for the double post, but just updating my day:

It's going much better than yesterday. My wife and I are discussing moving back to the continental US because the cost of living here is so high, which is something I've wanted to do for a while. I called my Dad and we worked out our differences. He admitted that he was feeling frustrated because his own father and his brother both died in the past year, and he kind of took it out on me because he and my mom don't get to see the grandkids as often as they'd like.

Also, I might have a lead on a new job. Even if it doesn't work out, just the realization that employers are interested in bringing me on just made my day.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Today was pretty good. My parents had to go out this afternoon to get a part for our camper. They told me to come with them and we went to a Mennonite restaurant for dinner after we got the part.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Well after my last post on here about buying bow ties I am spending the day today figuring out how to tie a bow tie.

The fire alarm went off near the end of my shift. Apparently someone in the deli forgot to turn on a fan before cooking. Other than that, today was pretty good.

There's one Steam user who keeps on begging me about wanting a $5 or $10 Steam Wallet money. Before that, he begs me for a premium gift. Then after that, he begs me for a "Poker Night at the Inventory" CD key.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Stayed up all night because I wanted to finish off season 1 of Initial D (which I did). Used the rest of my time to silently clean out the car after I found my keys (my dad either has the car, or locks it and tosses the keys in his room). It's a very filthy car, so I only got the back seats and under the seats cleared out. I still need to vacuum, but I think our shop vac is out of commission. As in gone. My dad has always talked about taking the shop vac out and cleaning that interior, but he never got around to it. I was at least able to make it less cluttered and uncomfortable. I really wanted to do the front, but there were mosquitoes everywhere, and my flashlight's battery was going out. I really want to clean it out though. Then I want to go in there with a vacuum and see if we have anything to clean the stains off the dashboard and console. I'm pretty sure we have something under the kitchen sink. I could have sworn I saw some Armor All or whatever it is people use to clean their interiors these days. I found a quarter in the cupholder, so I figured I'd reward myself with some hot chocolate. The car struggled to start up, the same way it has been since I got out of school for the summer. I really want to change that battery. It's late at night/early in the morning, so I figured now was the perfect time to blow off some steam by speeding down the street like it was my own personal racetrack. Earlier, I got food for my brother because he wanted to get in on Initial D, and I took my mom's Accord. I got the car up to 80 on the straight part of the road home. That's as fast as I went in that thing tonight. So on the way back from the convenience store, I put both hands on the wheel and floored it. It's got some problems with its engine, transmission, and axles, so I made sure not to turn too hard, push the engine too hard, and let up on the gas enough for it to shift into the next gear without seizing the engine like my brother did with my truck (when I had the thing, I'd get it up to 75 and not have any problems because I knew how to get the truck into the next gear with a rough shift. Record speed was a flat 100 mph on the loop, speed limit was 60). Taking all the precautions into account, I was only able to hit a measly 60 mph in a 30 zone. I was able to get my granddad's 1500 C/K to 70 on that same street, and I started halfway into the street. I know that car has potential, but it needs some serious work on just about everything. The steering is acting up, the throttle and acceleration is complete crap, the transmission clearly needs work, and those tires are ancient. Only one of them is new, the rest haven't been changed in God knows how long. I feel like it needs an oil change and a new air filter as well. And not to mention the battery. I also wanted to tinker with the fuel cap because it's had trouble pumping gas and does the thing where you can only pump a few cents at a time before the pump forces you to stop, or gas spews back out. We had the radiator flushed a year ago in the fall, I think. I don't think we've ever done a fuel system cleaning. I also found out that it's been so long since anyone's really gotten under there that there are cobwebs forming underneath the car. That feels humiliating to say the least. I really wish I had money to burn. There's so much I want to do to that car...

Re: How Was Your Day?

Just starting another long workday today. I do try to keep it interesting with the "Real Man Contest" and the Acapella group, a boring day is a wasted day. I hope I win the contest today. Yesterdays contest was eating a Habanero pepper and being the last one to tear up.

Re: How Was Your Day?

My body's really sore.
Trying to recover and pick myself up a bit but there's a duality to everything. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Pretty good, just bummed around, got some comics from the used bookstore, stayed up later than I meant to.

Re: How Was Your Day?

Pretty good day. It was my day off, but I went to one of my old sites to train a new guard. Did 45min of work and got paid 2hrs overtime because my boss knows I'm a rock star. Then I came home and learned "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "The KKK Took My Baby Away" on the bass guitar.
