Seventy. Three. Degree. Weather.

I live in the icebox known as the Mid-Atlantic. Our seven months of bitter winter cold have just let up. I can't begin to tell you how good I feel when the weather gets nice.

Woke up, saw my name in green, Call of Cthulu RPG books arrived, tracking on my Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG book says it should be here tommorow. Feels good man.

Today the music player got stuck on a two-song loop for almost my entire shift (i.e. over six hours). I also cut my thumb on the tape dispenser. On the bright side, Braeburn and Jonagold apples are good and on sale, so I'll buy a couple tomorrow.

I just got back from St. Louis, because the TSA are a bunch of cunts and wouldn't let anything leave CPS last evening. Something about "blah blah blah Patriot Act, blah blah small penises, blah blah blah." I fricking love the United States, but the TSA needs to get its collective bent dick straightened out. I got a $55 private Escalade ride back home, though, because they were out of Town Cars. Taking today off, with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label and Far Cry 3... just because.

Jonagold apples are the shit. Best-tasting I've ever had, and around here they are nearly the size of softballs, crisp but juicy, and inexpensive since Oregon and Washington are loaded with orchards. I may buy a bunch of them, some for the 4 of us living here, and I will try making hard cider from the rest.

I made hard apple cider before in Denver... good stuff that was better than Strongbow or Magner's and made from Fuji apples. I put it in old champagne bottles and brought the last 6 bottles out here with me, miraculously only one exploded.

And yesterday was quite nice. Yanachu and I went to a place called Hendricks Park near the University of Oregon to look at the rhododendrons in the rain (not all were blooming yet), I went to Goodwill (I have nearly as much of an addiction to the place as Barb Chandler, but don't buy enormous amounts of shit there), bought books from the 60s about restoring motorcycles and the story of the Shelby Cobra, the 8-track of Styx's "Equinox" album, a model of a Ford GT40 made by "Jouef Evolution" in an unopened but beaten to shit box, an LP record of Frank Zappa's "Uncle Meat" and a 1970s weather radio that I'm amazed still picked up NOAA Weather Radio. I made waffles, sausage patties and eggs for dinner and we all watched a DVD of old Forensic Files episodes while contemplating when the fossilized narrator would die (we all agreed on the next 2 years)

I accidentally pulverised one of the side-windows on my mum's car...I don't think I'll park in that particular spot again...

Today I filled out an application for a full-time opening in the deli of the grocery store where I work, but didn't turn it in. I also voted in the county's consolidated election (the candidate my brother campaigned for lost).

I was pleasantly surprised at how mellow Speyburn 10yr single malt scotch whiskey was. Only $23 for 750ml, it was on par with some of the better brands I've had. I'm adding it to my list of brands to buy. So, yeah, I spent most of the night drinking, snacking, and watching Batman The Animated Series. I forgot how much I loved this show. Even when my English wasn't so spectacular, I knew what was going on by how expressive the characters were depicted. Y'know, I'm reasonably sure I could eventually defeat Batman. Okay, I'd pretty much just rip off Bane's plan... But, why reinvent the wheel?

Gym when (if?) I wake up. I hope to sleep until 3pm, just because I can. Boo-friggin-yah!

A movie premier for the new Jackie Robinson movie, 42. A lot of the cast, as well as some legendary ball players were at my local theater for a special screening. I ended up face to face with Ford on the red carpet. For all the years I lived in southern California, it's funny that it took coming back home to the Midwest to get an experience like that. After the screening, I got Robinson's son's autograph. It was a once in a lifetime night.

For the record, Chris would have felt right at home in 1947.

I had a mortifying moment at 7-11 this afternoon. My dad lets me use his credit card for gas and groceries. So I went to 7-11 to get dinner. The card was denied. I can't help but wonder if dad canceled the card without telling me and he wanted to publicly embarrass me. I wouldn't put it past him. He's absolutely sick of my failures and my inability to get hired anywhere.

Not good. Coming down with the flu. At a store I had to get Sudafed at, I had to present my driver's license (both my temporary Oregon license with my name and a pic of me looking like utter shite on it, which I use until my regular plastic license comes in, and my Colorado license that expires in October of this year), because of meth cooks, the college-aged clerk saw my name (same as a Charles Ng/Leonard Lake victim) and started sperging about serial killers. Normally a cool thing for me, but I got the idea that this guy was a necrophiliac. :shock:

I wish I shared a name with someone. Doing a Google search on my name pulls up a shit load of guys with my exact name who were arrested usually for armed robberies.

At least I have the same first name as one of our presidents (one of my favorite ones too).
