i usually read the happening threads thoroughly for the first day or two. i might not participate (because of the petty grievances and squabbling that inevitably overwhelm the thread), but i do tend to research and verify claims for my own sake. i don't usually find that i have much of a reason to argue with the users who make assertions about the facts of a matter, without being bothered to so much as read the articles, though.

there are a few users i can think of who do tend to contribute significantly to these types of threads:
@Breadbassket, @chiobu, @clipartfan92, @gernig, and @Larry David's Opera Cape

My friends and I sort youtube and tiktok by most recent with certain keywords and find some pretty funny stuff. Examples like Furry, LGBT and my personal favorite; Apology/sorry. Theres a lot of slop, but on occasion you'll uncover something special. We call it 'panning for mold'.
 
Is this primarily for site-wide content or does it apply to A&N type content? If it's the latter, I'd be interested in helping curate articles and I'd also suggest @Breadbassket, who is one of the best news-related content posters on the site.

Josh mentioned in the chat about being hesitant to xeet A&N articles due to ownership concerns, since they are literally just someone else's article.

That’s a good view to take, on many things. This idea sounds somewhat like the general (& mostly loose) system people here do this stuff already, but with a little more structure & organizing, from time to time, on top of that. I think it’ll work well.

I rarely post big happenings or events of interest in the more commonly browsed areas like Community Happenings, or the MATI thread, most of the things I usually notice are generally thread specific. I’d post in a thread for these types of topics & post submissions, on any occasion I found something funny, important, & noteworthy enough to contend. It’ll be interesting seeing this implemented over time.
 
I'm willing to help. I do a lot of writing outside the forum. I can contribute visuals, art, article write-ups, fact-checking, digging, etc. Just let me know what you need, and I'll get it done. If I'm given 1-2 examples of good pieces, that would be enough for me to mimic the style for write-ups. All I'd need to know with it is what the intended tone is (political, upbeat, informative, etc), how to lean it (neutral most likely), and length.

Writing and research are my favorite hobbies. I'm free for full-time work on the weekends, as well.
