The Necromorph go down pretty easy and are not that bad. The Big Clubber is a turret hunting machine that you really gotta focus fire on (and can come out of now where to smash you). Similar idea as the Fleshmob but a bit tougher, slower, and can Regen. The new big clubber sounds like a perfect use case for fire more than it already was on illuminate due to the hordes. Dunno about the necromorph, they even said shoot the limbs to keep it down. Maybe it has unreasonably high health for a unit of its type and dismemberment is bleedout like when a charger butt is destroyed. Will wait and see what people find and when the wiki gets info.
From the tiny bit of gameplay that I've been able to get between crashes the limbs are really easy to cut off with almost any weapon, they just keep going until you shoot off their head which is also easy to deal with. The issue is that they'll keep running at you until you blow their head up, and if you don't take off their claws they have a chance of getting back up and slashing in a straight line until they hit a wall and they finally die. They're just hyper aggressive and a bitch to deal with.Dunno about the necromorph, they even said shoot the limbs to keep it down. Maybe it has unreasonably high health for a unit of its type
They probably didn't want to make the grenade pistol outright useless by adding a secondary that can do its job but with the efficacy of a much more loadout intensive weapon like a grenade launcher/autocannon.The bolter pistol despite being explosive has no effect when shot into automoton fab vents or illuminate ship holes, which is an obnoxious oversight/cunt design choice.
always a strong all arounder stratagem. I wish it didn't take up a backpack slot, but that might be OP. maybe if it had less ammo?Autocannon continues to be GOAT'ed in near all categories -- bullies the new Eustace Illuminate in 4-5 Flak hits just like Fleshmobs.
Gonna correct you. Shooting off their heads don’t kill them outright. They’re literally slasher necromorphs they’ll do the headless flailing if you shoot off their head first. I love them as Dead Space is my favorite horror game. From the tiny bit of gameplay that I've been able to get between crashes the limbs are really easy to cut off with almost any weapon, they just keep going until you shoot off their head which is also easy to deal with. I wish there was a specific mission to kill them instead of having them spawn whenever. The new operation finally got me onto the hive worlds again for the first time since 'Into the Unjust' and I immediately remembered why I don't do them, Hive Lords.
I have to ask, does anyone here like Hive Lords? Cause I hate the fuckers. You either skew the loadout to kill him for next to no reward or do your best to ignore him but you can't do that when you get to extraction the big son of a bitch just sits there and flops all over you while reinforcements keep coming.
But I get why they'd make him such a nuisance, if he was less of it no one would bother so I can't just say they should nerf him and in concept he is cool but I just can't stand him.
Does anyone know if he one of the enemies that affects the host more than non-host players? I usually host so my animosity might stem from that, or not either way hate the fucker.
Should have been a 15 minute mission in a special arena map like the "Survive the onslaught" missions. The Hive Lord could have been a cool bossfight if it was executed properly with it popping in to attack and expose itself in between summoning bugdrops to distract and overwhelm. Someone needs to focus on big damage, someone needs to keep the hordes at bay. I don't see why a dedicated "Kill the big boss guy" mission type can't return from HD1.Hive Lords

Big Takeaway:
- SEAF has now been upgrade to a full 4 man squad with different roles. Will be dropped in by a Pelican with planets with the Heavy SEA Presence tag
- New kind of voteless, one looks like a Deadspace Necromorpth and the other looks like a 10 foot dude with a 5 foot mace that regens if you stop attacking it.
