So far, the comic has only explained why keeping the secret was so vital and the origin of the sword (Snake-Men enslaved an interdimensional being to attack King Grayskull, so the Elders made a sword capable of wounding something that exists within two dimensions), the creature is attacking in the present and has poisoned Randor. It's revealed at the end of the issue by Skeletor that the creature didn't poison anyone, it was trying to make a psychic connection so it could warn the universe of a great threat that's on it's way. So, it might be the creature that tells Skeletor about the Mcguffins.I dunno, I read there's a tie-in comic also written by Kevin Smith (oof) that's supposed to explain what happens before the series, but there's only one issue out and the first part of the show has already aired. Maybe it'll go into how Skeletor finally found out ...but I feel a better writer would have found a way to put that, y'know, in the show.
Yeah, that’s unfortunate. Tons of cartoons try to recreate Avatar and keep missing the mark.Gonna be real, I feel people are putting on rose tinted glasses for 2011 Thundercats. The first half was legitimately great, but good lord was the second half a clusterfuck of poor writing and even worse pacing.
Its still leagues better even at its worse than most cartoons we get today, but just because your comparing a smelly turd to a calcified one doesn't not make them both shit.
Isn't Netflix doing that right now? i heard they recast everyone with non-Union nobodies and it's horrid.I shudder to imagine what a Beast Wars reboot cartoon would be like,
Exactly.Isn't Netflix doing that right now? i heard they recast everyone with non-Union nobodies and it's horrid.
Not quite, they're doing is as a crossover as part of their War for Cybertron trilogy. So the Beast Wars characters are there but it's not quite the same timeline as the original series so there's a number of changes from the original plot.Isn't Netflix doing that right now? i heard they recast everyone with non-Union nobodies and it's horrid.
Is this even a cartoon for kids, though? Also, has anyone commented on the fact that He-Man kills during this show? He never used to kill. Children's cartoons don't usually have the hero kill people.
I don’t understand why this is so pervasive. Does the family-friendly restrictions force otherwise bad writers to write well, or do adult animation producers deliberately hire bad writers? Is this even a cartoon for kids, though?
I mean, if you're going to make it adult, just do it, I'm ok with it: I welcome more animation for grown ups. The problem is, and it's been mentioned before, that they think "adult" equals sex and violence and that's all. So you have a lame plot written by manchildren using sex and violence in the same way a ten years old would.
They hire woke writers because producers think this is what people want. Woke writers often happen to be very bad at their jobs.I don’t understand why this is so pervasive. I’m pretty sure was a problem with “adult” cartoons even before the woke takeover. They hire woke writers because producers think this is what people want. Woke writers often happen to be very bad at their jobs.
Restrictions by necessity always require creativity to circumvent. Some of the greatest media ever produced was created under incredibly restrictive environments and conditions. Of course, it depends on the skill of the writers/producers as these restrictions can just as easily go the other way and produce a pile of crap.I don’t understand why this is so pervasive. Rampant nepotism on every single level or otherwise shitty hiring practices aside there are only so many decent to good writers out there and the amount of shows produced each year is rising (thanks, Statista) and each show needs an entire room full of people "throwing around ideas" because we can't have a singular voice with maybe a second writer to tidy things up.I don’t understand why this is so pervasive. Does the family-friendly restrictions force otherwise bad writers to write well, or do adult animation producers deliberately hire bad writers?
I have to give credit to the 200X reboot. It’s a spiritual clone of the original. Even down to the ending segments where He-Man talks directly to the audience. There’s just this nostalgic wholesome charm to it. I become more appreciative of that accomplishment with every new terrible reboot/remake Hollyweird craps out. It's for kids. And I'm pretty sure parents up and down the land are plonking their little ones in front of it with vague recollections of He-Man delivering little to the camera moral lessons at the end of each episode. Not him losing his cool and running a sword through someone's chest.
So apparently people are under the impression that the black character Andra will become the new “He-Man” based on an interview her VA did.

I dunno, has vibes of 'everyone had the say it at the end' rather than it being essential to the character... I'm ready for you to prove me wrong, Show!So apparently people are under the impression that the black character Andra will become the new “He-Man” based on an interview her VA did.

I wouldn't be surprised. Their goal after all, is to destroy the franchise. So apparently people are under the impression that the black character Andra will become the new “He-Man” based on an interview her VA did.

It would make sense, it's a Netflix production after all.So apparently people are under the impression that the black character Andra will become the new “He-Man” based on an interview her VA did.
